Houston Garden Center offers a great and very large selection of plants, including every plant that grows in the area, lawn sods, and a wide variety of fertilizers and weed killers. It is known for good prices, great deals, and very discounted prices, especially during late August and September. However, the staff is often not too helpful and may not know about plants or products. The store is also not wheelchair friendly, making access difficult. Customers recommend bringing a large plastic bag to protect their car, as these are not provided.
Went for mums. On the plus side, the plants were healthy and a great price. On the down side, they only had two colors. To complicate matters, no one there spoke English. So I couldn’t find out if there would be additional shipments, and if so when I should show up to get the best selection.

Great experience. Clerk noticed he inadvertently over charged us, (I didn't even catch it) and he ran us down and made it right. We will be back...a lot.

I always find the staff helpful and informative. I tend to go when they first open up for the day before the crowds show up. I've always found the plant, soil mixture, container I'mlooking for.
