Didn’t feel like driving to southwest to get some food items and since I go to the cafe a lot and never had a bad experience, decided to try the mart. Whatever lady there today needs to fix her attitude. She answered questions like she was being bothered. Her whole demeanor was definitely not appreciated, she needs to do better at customer service. Will rather make that hour drive to southwest that deal with that customer service.

I am really disappointed to be charged $5.50 for one spoon of stew on top of my soup….that’s nothing to write home about, dude was like he will make a new plate of soup without stew. I had to walk away disappointed. First time trying a Nigerian restaurant in spring and the customer service was nothing to be proud of.

Poor customer service. The woman was too arrogant to answer questions on price of what she sells. If it's to be an American customer she would be very respectful and nice but if you are same country she exhibit arrogant behavior. Too bad for such business. No wonder the place is always dry whenever I pass by. Most of us drive to African Store in Houston to buy things we need because of their quality customer service and quality goods The
Peanut has too many sand in it. No proper cleaning. Please lecel up your service to attract more and great customers.

With the food items I have explored and ordered, Jollof rice, fried rice and protein are my go to to purchase.
I have not gotten an ahh ahh moment or uttermost satisfaction with the food yet.
I tried small chops and disposed of it. Not worth $7+ with tax.
The spring roll did not taste like a Nigerian made rolls. It tasted a 100% like a roll you will get when you visit a Chinese restaurant or those spring rolls you get frozen from Walmart or HEB and then bake or microwave.
The triangle samosa look alike is also the same. A Chinese version of samosa or something you get frozen from Walmart or HEB.
I know this because I do not enjoy Chinese or Asian pastries/small chops.

So I don't write many reviews but this is the 2nd time I've been disappointed with this place.
1. It is overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get or maybe it was just my food.IDK but there were only 2 pieces of meat and not much egusi. Also they put cow hide(I think that's what it was) underneath the egusi. It made it look like there was a decent amount of egusi but there wasn't. Only a few handfuls.
2. Way too much oil. So much I threw up what little food i ate. The rest went in the trash. Ask for extra napkins if you get the egusi to soak up the oil.
3. Too much pastry on the fish pie and not enough filling.
4. Don't plan on eating in as the ot place to sit and ear is in a storage area. I can't believe the young man even showed it to me. I heard that they are opening a cafe nearby so that might help but I still would t go back.
5. My food tasted like the oil had been burnt.
This is the second time I ordered this dish and threw it away. I had the same issue with the oil and it tasting burnt the first time around. I thought it was just because I came at closing. Nope.
BTW... I eat egusi at least once a week from another local place and it is superb! Same price but better quality and larger portion sizes and nore protein options. I just thought I'd give this place another chance because it's closer. I would try another dish but I've already wasted $50+ in my 2 trips.
