Stopped by 15 minutes before closing and it’s completely closed. Update your hours if you’re going to close early.

Closed for construction. Taking order for taco truck out front. Not my game for breakfast. Disappointed.

My wife and I were celebrating our 21st First Date anniversary and decided to head out to Stonewall, the Peach Capital of Texas, or so the claim goes. With freestone peach varieties being harvested (I've read that Red Globe, Loring, Elberta and Dixiland are the sweetest), we thought it's the best time to get some fresh peaches. Before heading out to the peach stands, however, we were getting hungry and thought a stop at Stonewall Diner might be the ticket. Located inside a gas station, Stonewall Diner is far from a "charming" eatery oozing with atmosphere. But hey, as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover...heck one of the best Indian Cuisine we've sampled during our travels was in a gas station in OKC! My wife and I placed our orders, she opted for the Lunch Special of Hamburger Steak with peppery gravy, fries and salad with fountain drink ($8.99) and I ordered their Chicken Fried Steak which came with gravy, fries and salad, and a medium drink. We had to pay for our order out front where folks would pay for their gas. With COVID-19 still lurking, I was surprised when we were told we could eat inside as we were prepared to take our meals to-go and just find a nice shady place. Service was prompt and friendly. My Chicken Fried Steak was OK. The steak was tender enough but the gravy wasn't as peppery as I wanted it. My wife's Hamburger Steak was way better than my meal...with that peppery brown gravy smothered all over the meat. The peach tee from the soda machine was packed with peach flavor...we both loved that. All in all, we thought the place was OK. No frills, but with a friendly and engaging service.

It's a very unassuming place in the Chevron station. The burger was the best I've had in a while. Fries were ok. The salad my MIL had romaine lettuce (which is nice vs. iceberg). My FIL had chicken strips, he said they weren't greasy. It's nothing fancy but the food was good !

Excellent burger and fries. The burger was excellent with all the trimmings of an old time burger. The fries were the best I have had in a long time. The outside of the fries was crisp and the inside was flakey and tasty. The real surprise was the bottom of the boat had NO grease at all. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through. The only reason I did not give this place a 5 star is it closes at 2PM and not open for supper.

Thanks to Yelp for leading me to the Stonewall Diner. If you didn't know that it is in the Chevron station in "downtown" Stonewall, I'm sure you would miss it. I've only had the hamburger, but if everything else is nearly as good, it is a real jewel. A great old-fashioned burger.

If you're looking for an all-American cheeseburger dripping with juicy flavorful goodness on a buttery toasted bun, don't blink passing through Stonewall or you'll miss your opportunity. I had low expectations and just needed a quick bite with the family for lunch on July 4. Instead we left here declaring "That's the best burger I've ever had!!" What a lucky find! The fries, onion rings, and chicken strips are all standard frozen fare (but good quality). Those burgers tho. They were not from the freezer. Someone took time to lovingly mold and season them to perfection. There's nothing better than roadtripping through the south on Independence Day and stumbling across a dive diner in the back of a gas station with the best burgers ever. 'Murica y'all!

Stonewall is pretty small town: a Chevron Station and a grocery store. At the station are the usual things. In the back is a little cafe with cheap, delicious food. There's always a table filled with white haired older men having coffee. They're cordial and the staff is nice. It's not big city spiffy but it gets the job done. I go there at least once every time I'm visiting family in Stonewall.

Good food and reasonable prices. The hamburgers were really good along with the southern chicken salad. Catfish was good but really greasy.

After reading previous reviews, we decided to give it a try. My mom says best country fried steak ever, my sister loved the onion rings and I savoured every bite my catfish dinner.

Did not have high expectations for this place. We were staying at a Airbnb about 10 miles away and were hungry for breakfast. I ordered the redeye which is biscuits and gravy with a side of home fries. And WOW!! So good. And very cheep. I saw the four $$$$ but this place not not expensive. It's a great deal and awesome food. I will be coming back every time I'm driving through.
