I rented a vehicle on the 2nd of December until the 8th of December because my vehicle was in the shop being repaired. The first morning going into work the rented Avis vehicle wouldn’t start and gave me errors. I called Avis’ emergency number and told them what was happening. They informed me that they could call an Uber or tow truck for me. I live 2 hours from where I needed to go so Uber wasn’t an option, they then told me I would need to pay for a tow since I declined insurance. I decided to figure things out myself and eventually got the vehicle back to Avis and told them I needed to change vehicles out to a working one. I was then told that I needed to refill the tank or I would have to pay for a full tank per policy. This is absolutely ridiculous for me to have to fill up a tank of gas on a broken down vehicle that I had no control of and then get a new vehicle just to have to refill that one in the end too. Being told I have to pay for a tow truck on a vehicle that is broken and then told I have to refill a broken down vehicle’s gas tank makes me never want to come back to Avis again as a customer.

Very friendly help and service but I believe the business engages in price gouging to a certain extent. I visited the location and requested a same day rental for 3 days. I was quoted close to $600. I was told that the pricing online was cheaper and it was because I was a walk-in. Not sure how ethical that is in the consumer world but surely a frowned upon practice by us consumers. I went to fox rent a car at hobby airport and got a vehicle for 8 days for under $200. Once again, the guy at the shop was very friendly and hard working but I cannot recommend a business who engages in substantial mark ups like the one I was quoted for simply walking in and requesting a rental vehicle.

I reserved a midsized car online (Camry). When I arrived at the Avis location, the Rental Assistant informed me that all the cars in the price range they promised were unavailable. All they had left was a Mustang...cool! Except it was SIXTY-ONE DOLLARS MORE! When I pointed out the obvious bait and switch, the RA cheerily pointed out that ACTUALLY, that car was $150 more, which means that doubling the anticipated cost of the rental was actually doing me a favor? LMAO!Not only am I giving you one star, but I'm going to make sure my 10K followers know Avis is garbage. THEN I'm going to do a sketch with my buddy who has 700k+ followers about how horrible you are. Hope you're still smiling after that.

Avis has a terrible policy of allowing you to make reservations online and not honoring them the same day at location in which they show cars available. It was a wasted trip to drive to this location only to be told my employees that they had no availability.Instead of the staff sitting down talking among themselves, they could be verifying reservations on their computer system and informing them of Avis' failed online reservation system.For this reason alone, I will never use Avis again.

--Limited car selection in my local site, which is OK, since there is no big demand like in airport location--Takes a little long to get the car because the employee was locked out of system, she had to call someone to fix it while we were waiting there for more than 10 minutes--The car we got is old, it's close to 70K miles, and it needs oil change, and one tire has problem(warning on low air pressure even if I pumped more). Also the car itself doesn't have many options inside. Though it finishes the job as I expected--Overall it's OK, but wish to be better.

Not very friendly service people. Now money was taken out of credit card with out my knowledge. I paid for a one day rental using a different payment. Drop the car back through the night drop on full fuel.

Worst customer service. Never AVIS again. They didnt have a car for a reservation made 3 weeks in advance. After 30 mins wait to get the car another 20 mins to clean & fuel the car. Finally the car they gave had low pressure warning & they wanted to me to come back to get another car. I returned the car & cancelled the order.

I enjoyed the car we had but the experience with the service was not great. When I went to pick up the car, they didn't confirm with me any details, basically just gave me the key and had me on my way which I thought at the time was convenient but this plays a later role. There was also only one person working so service was slow, but it's uncontrollable. I picked up the car at half a tank so I figured I will return it at half a tank as that's what I left at. So when returning the car, they said that the tank was full on the lot when I picked it up. I was like what? No I picked it up at half. They asked if I brought it up with anyone at the time, and I didn't even know to because usually they confirm with me things and again it was half when I left so I figured that's what I had to return it as. She didn't try to work with me on it just told me to fill it up. So I had to spend more money to fill up the tank that I really shouldn't even had to... That was a very disappointing end to this. If it wasn't for this, I would have said the experience was great, but that's really shady that they did that.

Giving one star is generous. Reserved a Budget truck for moving over a week in advance. Got there at 9, no truck...She offered us to go pick one up on the other side of Houston....Are you joking???? Unreal.....
