Had five fraudulent charges to my bank account here via their Mastercard debit card. I don't know how anyone got hold of my card number and pin, as I never use it except to withdraw cash once or twice a year. I disputed these charges as soon as I discovered them on my online account. The bank refunded 4 out of 5, as I didn't dispute each one individually by amount and date (although they were all from same merchant Amazon within 48 hours). They could have very easily seen that I didn't have ANY other charge from Amazon in prior 5 years. When I realized that they had refunded only 4 out of 5, I contacted them and they told me that I had exceeded the dispute window of 60 days by a few days. Lost $743.40 on this one fraudulent charge from someone who somehow got hold of my Cadence bank debit card! Customer service and branch manger did not do much to help me recover this large amount from the fraudster.Following my interaction with the bank staff, I discovered that this bank had a serious data breach a few months ago (google this before doing business with the bank). It's quite obvious now that I was one of the victims. I'm also disappointed that NONE of the bank staff I interacted with revealed this information. Are they trying to cover this up? Trying to prevent more people from joining the class action lawsuits stemming from this data breach?
