PenFed does not have an ATM network, so you will always pay a fee - that is not reimbursed - UNLESS you drive to their only physical location in Temple TX!
The associate also didn’t know that my husband would have to be physically present to complete opening a joint account. She advised his signature on the application along with his drivers license would be sufficient… so I made a second trip for nothing!

I recently worked with PENFED on an auto refinance. The online experience was not good I was about to give up and I realized they had a location in Temple Tx. Vonda Isenhart was very friendly and helpful she sent in the info and got the deal done. I use two credit unions and two banks and have never dealt with anyone that great. She is exactly the kind of employee all businesses need. She definitely deserves a thank you from me and her company. I would recommend PENFED Credit Union to everyone.

worst thing we ever did was joining this credit union. Their systems are antiquated.. you are basically made to call and then you can forget actually getting anyone on the phone. I cannot wait to get this loan paid off so I can forever be done with this company. All banks are bad.. but this one may be the worst.

Poor service. Would look for other banks. Had various difficulties with teller and customer service representatives for what should have been a straightforward wire transfer.

Waiting for my Money Market to expire so I can CLOSE my account. I have repeatedly asked to be mailed a hard copy statement. They refuse. I DO NOT ACCESS FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS ONLINE. I’m from “old school.” I don’t have a printer and want to keep copies of statements in my files. YET, once or twice a month, they mail me invitations to open a charge account or other offerings. Customer service is lousy.

Manager is disrespectful and on a power trip. Can't believe how vindictive this woman is. I love PenFed, but this woman is out of control and needs to be reprimanded.
