Was in town for about a week. After getting kicked out of planet fitness I decided to try this place out. This is Definitely the spot to go if you are just looking to get in a good workout without worrying about people bothering you. Will only come here any time I’m in town now. All the staff was nice that I encountered. As someone who enjoys steel plates and old school equipment this would be my full time gym if I still lived here. Price for the pass was $15 a day or you could do $30 that covers a week.

This gym is its own thing. Best gym in central texas easily. The people and the culture are great.

I've been going here for about 2-3 months and here's all the pros and cons of the gym. Let's start with the bad, they got rusted equipment which is really outdated and some machines like the leg extension have the seat pointed up putting your knees at a weird angle. Along with this there's no air conditioning which is absolutely ridiculous since it's in Texas. Like in the summer it's 90-105 degrees outside and all they have is fans, if you want heat stroke you better come here. Along with that in the winter time which is coming right now. It was 40 degrees today and all they had for heating is closing the doors. Now the good parts, the bench press has its own little lift off for you which is nice, the deadlift area has a bar that holds the bar your using so you can take weight off or put some on. They have a-lot of cardio machines which is cool. And that's all the good I see from this gym. I almost forgot to mention that the benches here suck, they are cheap and small. Overall it's overpriced and awful

Locally owned gym with lots of variety for equipment. Great spot for heavy lifters.

BEWARE!!! PLEASE READ!! My boyfriend went to this gym for 2 years, bought products, and spent plenty of money here. Had to cancel because we moved. He went in per company policy to cancel. Staff had no clue what was going on some girl left our paperwork on a stack and it got lost. Now, somehow, this is our fault and they refuse to refund our money for an incorrect charge? Went through 3 people who never called back and no one passed the message on. When we called back we were greeted with an "I don't care it's not my money" attitude. When we said we would come down and wait for the manager to have this corrected they asked us to not come. Better gyms all over town with staff who care and want your business.

It's a gym, or a fieldhouse true to it's name. It's hot when it's hot it's cold when it's cold, but if you wanna lose weight it's a great start but it is almost thebare minimum. That's why Im leaving the review with two stars, yes it's a gym but I mean the dumbbells are fucked up, stuff like there was only ONE 60 lb dumbbell in the whole gym lol, only like 3 squat racks the rest are outside but it's too hot for all that right now, overall just low maintenance of the place. I understand it's supposed to have a high school fieldhouse gym feel but for the amount of money you pay there, you might as well go to Crunch. Same price, more people yes, but at least there's more variety in machines/racks/dumbbells. The icing on top was when I finally cancelled my membership here, they "forgot" to do it, I got charged for 5 months without my knowledge, neither them or the ABC financial group will issue a refund. In the end, if you need a place close to home to workout and the bare essentials with a protein shake after, this is your spot, but be careful cause it's a small gym and prone to issues like the ones mentioned above.

FIX THE AC AND YOU MIGHT KEEP MEMBERS!!If I could give zero stars I would! By far the worst gym I’ve ever been to! Filthy, no maintenance on the equipment whatsoever, and don’t get me started on the lack of AC! It is so ungodly hot and humid inside this place! Do better!!

The only con is no AC which in my opinion doesn't belong in the gym however it would be nice to have in the restroom or locker area. Everything you can imagine available they even have a Westside Barbell Reverse Hyper, the only gym I've seen in Texas with one.

Complete dump with no AC. Equipment is awful as well. I will never be back when there are so many better options in town.

Loved this place....it's a shadow of what it was. Get the AC fixed and you might keep more members. Maybe Derek can come back and whip it into shape again.

If I could give zero stars I would. This gym is terrible. Equipment is run down or broken. Almost every barbbell in that gym is bent. Don’t even get me started on the dumbbells. Be prepared to use 20lbs and have to jump to either 40lbs or 60. The staff doesn’t care about the facility. They are either talking by the front desk or outside smoking. Probably one of the worst gyms i have ever been to

Absolutely no Air conditioning. It is miserable. They don't have floor fans to circulate the air like the Harker Heights location. Harker heights is extremely hot as well. Temple is the worse of the 2. I hate it here. They refuse to refund my money. They have a sauna. Why? The entire gym Is a stuffy sauna.

Please turn the AC on!!! It's like a sauna hot box that you're trying to train in. Not to mention the amount of added bacteria that grows in such a warm and wet room (yes wet because at 5am when I go, everyone is dripping sweat just from walking in). Other than the AC situation, it's a great gym with all the necessities. But walking into a heat wall to start a workout at 5am is rough. Unless this gets addressed and they decide to allow air conditioning, I'll be looking to go somewhere else for my workouts.

Awesome equipment and atmosphere. Definitely the place to go if you're serious about growth.

Great gym, been a member off and on since it originally opened in 2012. You're able to go there and lift heavy weights and focus on your training rather than arbitrary rules like other gyms. One of the top gyms in Temple-Belton area. The only real issue with the Field House is that a lot of the equipment is older than the gym itself, and has been there since it opened in 2012. For a lot of it, that's fine because it adds to the atmosphere. My issue with this is a lot of it is constantly broken or worn out, a lot of plates are chipped or rusted, making them weight less than the marked weight. Most of the dumbbells are falling apart and the bars are also bent, warped and rusted from the elements and people dropping the bars on safeties. If you are not a competitive lifter, then this isn't a big problem. Replacing the bars with newer (hopefully rogue or Texas power) bars and beginning to replace worn out dumbbells and plates would solve all of my issues. However, despite this, I still recommend training here.
