It is a huge wildlife management area with over 60 years of meticulous ecosystem management, offering breathtaking natural beauty. Visitors enjoy rock hunting, hiking, fishing, and looking at wildflowers and birds. The quiet seclusion is perfect for nature walks or sitting in a field to observe wildlife. Facilities, including bathrooms and a hunters camp with camping spots, are noted as top notch. While some screened shelters need repair, the area remains a favorite for its flawless staff, dog-friendly policy, and picturesque meadows ideal for a picnic. It is closed in winter and has restricted access during hunting seasons.

It's absolutely my favorite place to be. I rock hunt, hike, fish, look at wildflowers. The wildlife is a bonus and beautiful birds to see as well.
