I have a new favorite place to stay on long road trips... Candlewood Suites. We are 2 women moving from Texas to Pennsylvania with a truck, car on a trailer, SUV, and 2 cats, and this Candlewood Suites could not have been more accommodating. Jay, the front desk guy, was wonderful, and the room was exactly what we needed - full fridge with ice maker, plates, silverware, glasses, Dove products, etc. And when we entered the room, the A/C was blowing and the TV was on. It sorta felt like a home away from home. Thanks, Candlewood and Jay, for making our trip a little less horrible.

Booked a stopover here. Just one night. When I went to check in, the sloppy, unprofessional desk manager acted like he had no record of any reservation for my family. Upon pressing, he finally admitted that he cancelled the reservation himself. Claimed he "had no rooms available," even though we had a legitimate reservation. No call, no notice, NOTHING before my family and I were just stranded in the lobby. Avoid at all costs! They clearly don't care about even their rewards members. Pathetic!

This is one of the worst Candlewood hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It has an unpleasant smell and the lights in the rooms are very dim, even with every light on. I came on a business trip with five other people. One of them had bedbugs and another had dog hair on the bed.

Not door dash friendly or any food service . So make sure you don't order food to your room . They will hinder your delivery.

I have read all the good and bad reviews. All rooms are different. First time traveling with my 80lb dog. He was welcomed no issues. For the price of the room. $104. It’s a nice place. Mini kitchen with full size fridge. Recliner, first time out of hundreds of hotels to see that. Typically for all this you pay $300-400 a night. Is it the cleanest, no, is it the most disgusting. No! I’m OCD so I see a lot more than most people. It could use some TLC. But for $104 a night with pet accommodations. I think it’s a fair price. Room doesn’t stink. (123) No breakfast,I can deal with that for $104. If you travel much, you know you pay way more for less sometimes. Some set up in Gatlinburg wouldBe $400 a night. Have not seen the roaches everyone is talking about. Again each room of its own. Assuming for the price some people probably stay here more than a night or two. So, some rooms probably are more used than others.Rooms: First time I have had a recliner in a hotel room.Walkability: If you’re so unhappy, you can walk to a more expensive hotel less than a few hundred yards away.Food & drinks: There’s a Newks right across the street.

The rooms look like they’re outdated. The tv is very small. The AC doesn’t work well. This This is the worst hotel that I stayed in! There’s no free hot breakfast. There’s no coffee lids. My room didn’t have spoons and they wouldn’t bother to provide me one. I’m just going to avoid staying here ever again. I do not recommend anyone staying here due to all the issues that I encountered here. I’ll probably stay at the Hampton Inn that’s close by next time or a Marriott. I will be avoiding Holiday Inn or Candlewood in the future since I think they’ve gone downhill.

I beg you to avoid this place at all costs. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Health Dept. because it is totally unacceptable that this place is still open. The place is a pig pen. The room smells terribly. Trash overflowing out of the bins. Stains all over the floors in the hallways. The outside door of the building facing the street doesn’t lock at night. They admit to only cleaning the rooms once every 7 days (see picture below). It’s clear that this place doesn’t want to hire people necessary to keep the place running at the bare minimum.

My brother made the reservation, and listed me a an authorized person on his account. Got there and of course the front desk gave me a static but let me in using my credit card. We get to the room which was room #220 and as soon as we walked in there were ROACHES on the kitchen counter and burn plates. Went down and cancelled immediately the young lady at the front desk said that my card would not be charged but it in fact was. Called the hotel the next day and they advised 5-10 business days before the money would be back on my card although I NEVER stayed. This hotel needs a complete renovation and upgrade.Rooms: ROACHES!!!
