Kroger has many fresh vegetables & lots of items like other major grocery stores. Their store brand ice cream is very good & very inexpensive.

Todd in produce is always friendly and helpful!
On the other hand, I don't enjoy the re-set of the store. I understand the reason, but all center aisles completely changed! Takes me twice as long to do my shopping.

Kroger is my go to store. I usually have a decent shopping experience but this time it was not. Dre was one of the baggers on the shift and his soft skills are minimal. There was another guy bagging with short dreads and they were both lacking customer service. The other guy didn’t have to help bag my groceries because I didn’t have that many items. If Dre wasn’t so focused on the conversation he was having, he could have been done bagging by the time my transaction was finished. Due to him still needing to bag, they were throwing my items in the bags and in the basket, in a disrespectful manner. Mikal, the shift leader (red vest), didn’t intervene or redirect because he was laughing and engaging in conversation with them. The ONLY reason this gets two stars is because when I called, Alex, the manager, sounded like he would handle the situation.

Had a great experience this evening with David helping us with the steaks in the meat department.
His energy and excitement helping us was very genuine and knowledgeable. I appreciate how much he likes helping people. Great job!

I saw rib roasts on sale for $4.77 a pound with a virtual coupon. I thought I would pick one up since it was such a Great Deal. When I arrived at the store, I found they had only one left and it was marked at $81.00. I spoke to the man in the meat department and he told me it would only cost $23.00 with the coupon. So I took the roast to the check-out counter and the lady tried to charge me $81.00. I explained about the coupon and she said the they put the wrong label on the roast and it would cost $81.00. I told her that I’m not going to pay $81.00 for a roast that should cost $23.00. She just stared at me saying nothing, not offering to fix the mistake that the store made - so I left without my roast - very disappointed. What happened to customer service? Where’s the Christmas Spirit? They made the mistake, not me. I’ve been shopping at Kroger for years but this is my first time at the store in Texas City - looks like I’ll be shopping at HEB from now on. 😢

It’s against fire code to block or lock an exit when cutovers are in the building. Putting up a “closed at 8pm” sign doesn’t circumvent the law. In an emergency people could seriously be hurt.

I was calling around to check who carried this special dry cat food and Kroger was my last place to call. First I heard an automated voice and then I got transferred to a woman who answered and said she would transfer me to the correct department. Then I heard the music they have while waiting on the phone. Then it would change to a dial tone back and forth from music to dial tone and I’m not sure if that means that I kept getting transferred everywhere with no one wanting to answer the phone or it is just their phone system. Then it finally kept ringing the dial tone and I nobody ever answered and it just hung up on me. I was on the phone for about 8 minutes in the morning. The customer service at Kroger has diminished and I did enjoy shopping here once but not anymore.
