Worst security personnel. Unprofessional, very rude. The entry process for a badge makes you not wanna work at this plant.

I mean, it's OK. They give me a paycheck so I like them. They interrupt my off days with this thing they call a schedule. Want me to come in and do stuff. Still haven't used that college algebra yet. Coworkers are moody sometimes until they've had their coffee. ?To the one that commented about not allowing beards...it's a rule because a seal is needed when you wear an escape hood or SCBA mask. It has nothing to do with religion. And to the one that commented about emissions, let's see what happens when we shut all the refineries down. See what happens to your cost of living.

Pretty good company. If it weren't for the satanic rituals being held inside the ultracrackers, or the winged demons that reside there making the occasional escape to wreak havoc upon local villagers like myself, I'd give 5 stars. But the last demon feasted on one of my children, so I gotta give 4 stars.

All Valeros I've been to does not allow for religious exemptions for beards even if your job does not require a respirator. Very Non American to not support the first amendment. I'm deeply saddened and extremely upset that I was forced to violate my deeply held religious beliefs to work for a paycheck.

The good: Great opportunities here for Caucasian Americans. If one works hard and demonstrate results, he/she will be handsomely rewarded. The bad: Not so great opportunities for minorities perceived to be foreigners. This refinery is not much different than its peers. Minorities (particularly the race groups often perceived to be non-American, such as Hispanics, East Asians, South Asians, Middle-easterners) are "overrepresented" at the technical worker level and nearly non-existent at any level of management. The ugly 1: Unless a worker is perceived as American, not only does he/she have to work harder than anyone else to gain the same compensation, he/she must be careful to remain outside the "line of fire" during incidents for which scapegoats are identified.Example: For the April 2018 fire event at this refinery, the company investigation attributed the cause to an error in corrosion rate calculation.Consequences: The company most severely disciplined the non-Caucasian individuals tied to the error.-The company allowed the two people closest to the error - the person who committed the error & his supervisor - to maintain their job status. They were Caucasian American.-The company terminated the manager over the aforementioned He was Middle Eastern American.-The company demoted the director over the aforementioned supervisor. He was South Asian American.-The company demoted The director over maintenance was demoted. He was Hispanic American. The ugly 2: This company is not shy about promoting certain political biases. During election time, it often makes recommendations on how each worker could vote in favor of the company. The company stopped short of telling its employees who/what to vote for. During the 2016 elections, managers could be heard insulting subordinates who expressed any interest in voting for Democratic party.Although the management faces have changed since then, the ambience remains very much intact.

Chad Imholte was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable when we were looking to purchase land. He worked around our schedule, as we were traveling from out of town. Would highly recommend Chad! We are now planning on building our forever home at that land!

I specifically love it when my favorite refineries release 10,000 lbs of Benzene into the massively populated area of Galveston/Harris Counties. Great work Valero! Keep it up!

This place is the only place on this side of Palmer Hwy with ICEEs, but unfortunately, they no longer have Dr Pepper flavor. If you go at the right/wrong time of day, you will either be in & out or have to wait over10 minutes. Bathrooms usually pretty clean.
