I took lessons at saddle brook for a year until Covid hit so they shut down and we haven’t been back since. The only reason we continued to ride there was because it was one of the only stables in the area that did western lessons. Most of the lessons had upwards of 4 kids and one instructor that was really just there to baby sit while we rode. One particular lesson there was a girl that had never been on a horse before and the instructor put her on the most difficult pony who was an intermediate level riding horse, the instructor didn’t even take the time to check the girls helmet and when the pony took off her helmet was hitting her in the face. The instructor’s response to this was saying “well now you know how to lope!”
I have a few more stories about the care of the horses and personal accounts of the instructors being neglectful.
I would not recommend this stable for boarding or lessons!!!

I’ve been boarding my gelding here for 3 years. Owners respond quickly to any questions I have. Drama free barn with a family feel. The workers are FANTASTIC with the horses. Jumping coach on site. Blanketing/ fans/ trailer parking included in board. They work hard to keep it clean and update things regularly! The individual attention my horse gets when he needs it continuously amazing me. My horse is clearly happy here, so therefore so am I! Great mix of jumpers/ dressage riders/ western riders.

DO NOT let your child go to summer camp here!! My child came home with 1st degree burns. The camp counselors do not care about your child here. They had one adult counselor and two thirteen year old counselors for the week my two children were there. They told the girls to put on sunscreen at 12:45 and then they all went to the pool from 1-3. They never re-applied or even took sunscreen to the pool. When I emailed the owners asking how they were doing during the week, they said they were having a blast. In reality, my daughter was suffering from painful blisters from being sunburn. They did not even call us to let us know. You do not get your own horse to take care of, in fact they didn't even have enough horses for the girls. They had to pair up and take turns which means your kid gets about 15 minutes or less on a horse in reality. The website advertises two rides a day, a sunset and sunrise ride, an outdoor movie night, camp games, daily maid surface, and Double Dave’s Pizza. They clearly false advertise because the rides were minimal, sunset one didn't happen and the sunrise one was interrupted by negligent counselors who took them riding in another horses pasture. When those owners let their horse out, it spooked all the girls’ horses and they had dismount and return. The kids are the maid service. The counselors made them do all the cleaning, including sweeping and mopping. They also advertise a continental breakfast, they had 2 gallons of milk and 4 loaves of bread for 13 people for the week. So basically, by Wednesday they were eating dry cheerios. When I picked them up my daughters got in the car and said #worsthorsecampever

Great for lessons but horrible for boarding. When I got my first horse almost a year ago, we took him to Saddlebrook because that's where I had my lessons. Huge mistake. They underfed him to the point where all of his ribs were visible, they never mucked out his stall to the point where he was just standing in his own manure all day because of another problem, he barely got pastured. Ever since Janet Faye left, this place has gone downhill. I finally moved my poor horse and he's now in a facility where he's properly cared for. I also have concern for the lesson horses, they were in the same conditions. I only recommend this place for lessons, if anything at all.
