Had a special occasion for daughters engagement, about 30 people. The owner and stall bent over backwards to make the occasion more special. Really cool place, the have done a great job reviving and old place. We had a blast and will return. Great Music also.Rooms: Stayed in one of the containers on the property, plenty of room, very comfortable. The others with us stayed in the hotel and loved the old charm of the placeFood & drinks: We were there for steak night and let me tell you they were awesome!!!! Get the green chili margarita!!! Breakfast was like home cookin.Noteworthy details: Cool old town. Has a winery. Make a drive through Caprock Canyon state park, beautiful!!

A true West Texas treat to stay at such a unique Hotel at the edge of Caprock Canyon. The town is very quiet and charming. Beautiful street lamps illuminate a historic main street and not far away is a state park where you can hike, bike, fish or just stargaze while listening to the coyotes serenade. Hope you enjoy Turkey, Texas and the Turkey Hotel as much as my son and I did.

This Hotel is a must-stay for anyone! It’s like you step back in time to an old western town hotel. They have preserved it so well and everything is so organized, clean, and welcoming. The country western music that’s playing when you enter the lobby with an old saddle and creaky wood floors walking upstairs to the awesome rooms in itself set the energy of our whole stay. As we got ready for the evening, dinner, & entertainment below in the most cutest Cantina, courtyard, kids sand box play area & mini stage-you can hear the live guitar start playing-warms the heart & soul. A moment of quite simple revival and a healing weekend retreat indeed.Rooms: Old saloonish western look with squeaky wood floors and the perfect old western furnishing-loved out clawfoot tub.Nearby activities: Hog/coyote/bobcat hunts, local music, parks, parades, & good walks. Biking and a hiking feature as well.Walkability: Easy simple walking to any store, restaurant, or entertainment.Food & drinks: The food is amazing, enjoyed everything! The drinks are also delicious and the waitstaff is the best-lots of them too!Noteworthy details: This hotel has got things down to a science on covering all the things might need or want; always asking us if we needed anything.

Rooms are nice, but VERY dusty, the roof of the room looks like it’s falling apart, the water takes over an hour to get hot, and the locks don’t work very well. There rarely ever is someone at the front desk and when there is someone, they are VERY rude and rushy rushy. The front desk staff will just add tips if you do an order for pick up without asking if you’d like to add a tip, so be VERY careful when ordering things from this place. The town is full of people who don’t know how to not share every little thing they hear. They are VERY nosy, and don’t seem to understand what the word privacy means. The hotel is NOT pet friendly at all, the owner is EXTREMELY rude towards people with service dogs and will do what she can to get you to leave. The place is EXTREMELY understaffed so much so that some of the staff members almost beg for you to work there so they’re not so over worked. The food is not bad, if you’re willing to wait 1-3 hours for it just to be COLD and get sick, and have it looking unappetizing. They don’t seem to care about pregnant women when it comes to them ordering their steak, they continued to undercook my steak even after telling them I needed it to be well done so that way it doesn’t harm the baby, I told them this about 9-10 times and they STILL didn’t fix the issue, so my husband had took us home where he had to cook it the steak so it was safe enough for me to eat while being pregnant. Their steaks are more like lunch meat with how thin they are and lack seasoning the help add flavor, their stakes are not juicy at all, and if you eat it, it’s like eating a burnt piece of toast. Don’t bother trying to send it back cause they won’t get it right no matter how many times you tell them they did it wrong. They will not refund you for the food if they mess it up. There were countless times that I caught the staff hitting on my husband and when this was brought to the owners attention she did nothing, when I confronted the waitress about her hitting on my husband the owner asked us to leave and did not correct her staff. Over all a VERY poor place to stay and eat, you’re better off staying and eating somewhere else. Will NEVER go back again!Rooms: The locks on the ground floor rooms are EXTREMELY unreliable and if anyone wanted to they could just walk right in while you sleep, or while you’re away.Nearby activities: There’s nothing to really do in the town, but not too far from the town is an amazing park where you can go hiking and see a bunch of beautiful views and they are VERY pet friendly and are really nice towards people with service dogs.Safety: The stairs to the upstairs are VERY steep and at times slippery. Again the locks on the doors are VERY unreliable. When sitting at a table away from the bar, the servers don’t do ID checks when alcohol is ordered.Food & drinks: The food isn’t bad, but comes out cold as if they had made the food days prior and they just let it get to room temperature or left it in the fridge and served it when it was ordered.Noteworthy details: Place needs more work, but like the old timey look it has. If you’re expecting a quiet night while there is music playing, do NOT stay here, the whole place is unreasonably loud until after 12:00 at night. The place DESPERATELY NEEDS MORE STAFF, they are EXTREMELY understaffed and aren’t able to have people where they need them and will have their employees work multiple jobs such as a waitress will also do housekeeping and front desk duties. Most of the staff are very friendly, but again are very nosy. This place is NOT pet friendly so don’t take your pets there if you don’t want to be harassed by the owner. Owner treats people with service dogs VERY poorly and will at times make fun of you if you have a service dog with you.

Worth driving to Turkey, Texas, to experience this authentic 'step-back-in-time' country-western barbecue, or steak Resturant/Hotel.

This place is a charming step back in time about 100 years. Comfortable beds, soft sheets, antique furnishings, western charm, delicious food, live music, friendly folks, and excellent service with a smile!

Fairly decent stay. Nice layout. Bottom floor is very noisy. Website says pet friendly but it should state “not so friendly”. Heard multiple times from a woman saying “why are all these dogs here?” as she walked by our table. It made us feel unwelcome so we took ourselves and dog to our room for the evening.

Not a review but I have a question and can't get the website to come up. Dog friendly? We're cyclists and wonder where bikes would be stored overnight too.

It’s not very fancy but it’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed at. The food was amazing. We ate there 2 nights and everyone loved the food. Wednesday was wings and pizza night. The wings and pizza both were outstanding. The staff and the people in Turkey are very friendly. Loved our trip

What a neat place off the beaten path! The hotel has quite a charming and rustic feel with well maintained amenities! In other words - you get to feel like you stepped back in time without losing modern luxuries! (Nice shampoos, bedside charging outlets, AC, and nice TV).Bed was very comfy and it was fun to walk around the hotel to see the neat decorations from throughout time! I’ll be back!

We did not stay the night. So disregard that. We saw Janie Lin Wilson. The venue is perfect! Small and intimate. Just right!!! We come back every time we are in Texas. We love Turkey! ??❤️
