Felt totally unwelcome today by older lady. The two kids working here always help and explain things to me. My husband comes here regularly to play and is always treated fair, but I guess if you don't have a certain look or aren't familiar with everything then you are treated different by certain staff members and looked down upon.

These guy have been nothing but helpful to me and my family. I took my son here to help get him started with Pokémon, and I knew/know nothing about them. Everyone from the owner to the others there for the Pokémon League were very polite and helpful, and instead of telling me to go for these expensive card packs; they showed us these cheaper beginner packs to get us started. They even let us borrow a deck of their own to play with them. All in all, very nice people and atmosphere. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good place to hang out on the weekends (every Sunday, to be exact).Edit:My son has been going here for over 3, nearly 4 years now, and my daughter has decided that she wants to get into collecting Pokémon Cards, too. Just collecting the pretty ones, mostly Eevee. Anyways, just as before, everyone was super supportive and helpful to her in getting started, and even traded with her to get her favorite card. Couldn't hope to find a better place for the family to get out and interact with some amazing people. If you are ever lucky enough to meet Mr. Butter, he is a true class act and has now inspired both of my children to get into this hobby. Thank you all again and this beautiful community of friendly individuals you've brought together. Will definitely be coming back for as long as you'll have us.

Went for comics. Definitely a large variety of back issues across many different series. Would like to see more new releases being offered. Staff was friendly although one visit did see one of the staff members chastise my son for investigating an object of interest to him at the counter. She pretty much made it clear that if he broke it, it would have to be paid for. It was literally an item geared towards children. If you don’t want things touched in your store, put up a sign. Other than that good experiences at this store.

This Man is out here doing gods work just read an awesome story about this shop owner don't live near by but I do go to Texas and when I'm there ima stop and support this caring individual the way the father talked about how u made his kids day was awesome thank you for that may you have many many blessings in ur buisness and life keep being awesome

Had to come and give you guys a shout out! An acquaintance of mine gave you all such high praise. You really made him, and his kid feel so valued and cared for as collectors and members of the community. The store was wells stocked and clean, and the staff were kind, courteous, and fair. I hope that more stores will follow your (Ground Zero Comics) lead and truly help the new collectors thrive. Thank you for helping make the hobby amazing.

Had a bad experience yesterday. Stopped in for the new Wonder Woman comic. When I asked, I was told it did indeed come out and sold out. Person was dismissive and was not even remotely helpful. Needless to say, I will not shop here again.

An amazing store that has been serving the East Texas comic book and gaming community for decades. Dave and Tonya have always kept a well organized store stocked full with a great selection of collectibles, comics, card games, RPGs, graphic novels and toys. For even the most casual shopper there's something there to peak the interest, but where Ground Zero Comics truly shines above and beyond the big box stores and online retailers is they have a staff who honestly care about nurturing your enthusiasm for these items and pursuits. It's that level of customer care that has sustained and grown Ground Zero Comics into one of the largest (if not largest) independently owned comic book/gaming retailers in East Texas, so treat yourself to a visit and let the folks there introduce or rekindle your love for all things comics, collectibles and more.
