The Salvation Army Tyler is a highly reliable source of what is called "Soup, Soap, Salvation". The environment brings strength and hope to those who are weary and in need of help. I recommend those in need of help, whether it's shelter, clothes, or a safe environment to consider the Salvation army in Tyler.

I admit I haven't visited Salvation Army until the last couple of months, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Their store is full of furniture and hidden treasures that set it apart from other stores similar that I have visited in the past. I also found the customer service to be refreshing as I see that is lacking throughout many businesses I visit on a daily basis. I always make a point to read the reviews from others from which I do not solely take to heart because I like to see things from my own experience and perspective. Perhaps others have had bad experiences in the past, and that is unfortunate. With that being said, from my own, I encourage you and others to come back and tell others that Salvation Army doesn't stand for that and they are doing a lot of great things out there, including making changes for the greater good! I know. I sound like a spokesperson. I just know they helped myself and my family when we really needed it. Thank you, Salvation Army.

I like stopping here and looking around, you'll come across some good finds once in awhile, they've changed the layout recently and it looks alot cleaner. I think they must not get alot of donations with fancy brand name stuff which is to bad, because their profits go to worthwhile causes as do Hangers of Hope, Goodwill, etc.

This is like the most uninviting thrift store in Tyler I've been to. I've been a couple times and found a couple things the first time but this last time I felt stared at and unwelcome. The furniture are marked at retail prices, not thrift prices. I left pretty quickly after an exchange I heard between the staff, the cashier literally was just staring at me , they get a bonus star only because they have a lot of furniture. If you can catch their 50% off furniture sale or clothing sale and can bear the awkwardness, it may be worth it to go.

The staff is so rude. They have their favorites. When I first became homeless they turned me away.

I will never be going here again to this Salvation Army, the two ladies that work there the main cash register women the Hispanic short one and the one with straight dark short hair I don't know their names but I know that each time I went they were the ones at the cash registers. the first time I ever went was two months ago when I was purchasing a dining room table for my house, I moved here from California I am a nice person and did not expect to be treated like a thief when I went there, I paid for my dining room table and went to load it up and they literally had to come outside and check on me to make sure I wasn't stealing anything. I saw other people loading things up and she did not check on them once. so fast forward and I went there about two months later a couple of days ago and saw that it was 50% off all furniture, we found a cute couch that was $80 so we bought it for $40 the short lady was there again along with the same other lady and they rang me up and I trusted in them so I had the change in my hand and it was folded up. there was no way anything could fall out of my hand it was securely in my hand for only about one minute until we walked outside to go open our car up so we could load the couch up (our car was right outside in the nearest front parking spot like the very first spot in front of the doors) and I handed it to my fiance whom then counted it and told me that we were $10 short on our change, the receipt said $56 and the lady had only given me 46 now like I said before I'm not a thief and I'm not a liar, so my fiance goes back inside to kindly ask for the $10 that is owed thinking that they were just going to normally give it to him but instead basically called us Liars saying that we could have the $10 hidden somewhere in our car from the one minute that we had paid for our couch to the time we went to our car and been asking for another $10 to Swindle them. I was very irritated when he came out and said that because I remember getting treated like a thief the last time we came here when we come to buy stuff every time, so I go back inside and ask about my $10 and she said that basically we probably stole the $10 and that there's no way we can prove they didn't give us $10 except the fact that I had the change still wrapped up in the same way after it was counted and had the receipt that said $56 on it . now I'm thinking they do this a lot because some people might not mind thinking it was a mistake and leave them with the change that they took but I put up a fight and I went to the administrative building next door and demanded that they count the register to see if they were $10 over so when we went over there they counted the register looking at me like I was some kind of criminal the whole time, then found out that I was not lying and they had not given me the $10 (which I'm pretty sure they already knew) and walked up to me very rudely and smugly and said "people make mistakes" I took my 10 and loaded the couch up and when I was taking my couch out they were talking horrible things about me and my family in Spanish and little did they know my fiance is full Mexican and speaks fluent Spanish and could tell everything they were saying about us (i can also speak a little bit of Spanish because I'm part Mexican) calling us crazy and d*** and using a lot of explicit words that I don't want to repeat on here....like I said i will NEVER be returning to this salvation army these two womenmake the business look very bad and they pick and choose random people to treat bad while I was waiting there for 15 minutes for then to even countthe register 3 customers were standing there with me and one customer even when I went outside told me they have been treated like crap by these specific 2 women here multiple times ...hoping someday the higher up people see this and find other people to work there.

I love the helpfull staff here at the salvation army. There always polite and willing to help. Thank you for being here for me. I cam here from another town so I could get off drugs and they help me with a smiling face all the time. But now the food here is not good at all. And the staff in the kitchen act like there the best cooks in the world and that this is a 5 start restaurant. NOT. and treat you rudely.

Sad day!...I just attempted to drop off many valuable items at the thrift store. Cut glass....women's purses....China....Corning ware. The boss lady refused the entire lot because the Corning ware had some baked on stains and the cut glass had dust on it!....As the saying goes....no good deed goes unpunished. I did get a insincere "have a nice day" as I was loading the stuff back up.
