I am a THRIFTER and I love giving back to a good cause, but man oh man. I will never again set foot in this store again, everyone is uptight and just not friendly. The managing staff is awful, disgusting, and not pleasant to deal with. I used to love going there because I could always find something unique and at a very reasonable price, but now the prices are up the roof. I was in there enough to gain knowledge of how they operate, I noticed a lot of community service personnel there, it took every fiber of control in my tongue to stop myself from saying something in response to the AWFUL way they speak to the people that are there doing Community service hours, court ordered, everyone should be treated with respect. The staff speaks to these workers as if they were better than them, especially the main manager and the rest of the staff follows that example and talks down unto these community service people. I can go on and on about everything I didn't like in my frequent visits, but my main reason I will no longer be back is the management staff, all them.

This is the worst salvation army I have ever experience. My family and I were kicked out from the cafteria cuz of the way the staff was talking to us and even cussing at us in front of our kids and other children. I understand about the rules but they running this place like a jail. Some of the staff at this place is racist towards whites and children with disabilties. They kick out women and children and dont care if they have somewhere else to go. wow

I want to preface this review by expressing my gratitude for the services provided by The Salvation Army of Tyler. However, there are significant issues that must be addressed to ensure that the dignity and well-being of those who seek help are maintained.
**Staff Behavior and Professionalism**
Unfortunately, my experience with the staff has been far from positive. While I understand that the work can be challenging, there is no excuse for the consistent rudeness and unprofessionalism displayed. On multiple occasions, staff members have been easily tempered, forgetful, and unmotivated. The overall demeanor often feels disingenuous, leaving many feeling as though they are being treated as "low-class, worthless people." This lack of respect is disheartening and contributes to an already difficult situation for those seeking help.
**Food and Nutrition**
The meals provided consist primarily of fast food and ultra-processed items. While it’s understandable that resources may be limited, the lack of nutritious options exacerbates feelings of despair and does little to promote health. Proper nutrition is essential, especially for those in vulnerable situations, and more effort should be made to offer healthier alternatives.
**Facilities and Cleanliness**
The condition of the facilities is alarming. The bathrooms are consistently dirty, with people’s underwear often left on the floors. The showers are equally concerning, with dirty residue visible throughout. While the water quality is not the worst, it is far from good, adding another layer of discomfort to the experience. Cleanliness should be a priority, as it directly impacts the physical and mental well-being of those who rely on these services.
**Vending Machines and Expired Snacks**
Another issue that stands out is the presence of expired snacks in the vending machines. This is not only a health hazard but also a reflection of the overall neglect in maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
### Conclusion
While I am grateful for the opportunity to receive assistance, the conditions at The Salvation Army of Tyler are far from acceptable. This is the last place I would recommend to anyone in need of help. The treatment of clients and the state of the facilities need immediate improvement. It's disheartening to say, but living in a tent often feels more sanitary and respectful than staying here. The workers should reflect on how they treat people, as everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, no matter their circumstances.

Former resident as of 2 years ago and due to some unfortunate unforeseen circumstances I'm back here again but yet I can still give the same one-star review as that the bathrooms are still filthy and the stainless steel is covered in corrosion so is everything in the shower which are completely dirty the place does have bed bugs in every room and some of the staff is rude but I'll be at most of the staff now is courteous which is the only upside to this place. Is the cleanliness of the place because it's damn near unlivable conditions and I'm thinking about taking video and sending this to the local news station which is KLTV 7 and Reporting this issue. And also there is no air in any of the rooms at least on the men's Ward and from what I heard as of 2021 there is no maintenance person and if you look at the elevator inspection it was due in 2022 so yeah I may take pictures and videos within the facility and report this to KLTV Channel 7.

I am thrilled to have discovered this exceptional thrift store, which truly stands out from the rest. While other thrift stores in the area may claim to be doing good for the community, this one genuinely delivers on that promise. The prices are incredibly reasonable, making it accessible to everyone, without compromising on the quality of the items.
What sets this store apart is its commitment to providing great value to its customers while also making a positive impact. The selection is carefully curated, with a keen eye for hidden gems and unique finds. I've had the pleasure of discovering some fantastic items at unbeatable prices, and I couldn't be happier with my shopping experience.
In contrast, other thrift stores in the area often prioritize profits over people, masking their high prices with a veneer of altruism. This store, on the other hand, is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, where everyone can find something special.
If you're looking for a genuine thrift store experience with amazing prices and a commitment to the community, look no further. This store is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking great deals, unique finds, and a sense of purpose. I wholeheartedly recommend it and can't wait to see what other treasures I'll discover on my next visit!"

Salvation Army of Tyler... People helping People. Great group of caring folks working hand in hand together. To the volunteers that work day to day. The programs supported by the donations of caring community members. The leadership with a vision that encompasses the needs of victims of natural disasters and unforseen misfortune. Thank you
