We 6 fur babies and full time jobs, it's awesome to have a vet that is open when you need them...ON WEEKENDS! Always professional and kind. Dr. Calhoun is the best vet we've had; always thorough and never makes you feel rushed. Costs always reasonable and never unnecessary. Will only use Rose City Vet from now on.

These guys were great! Not only did they get me in quickly when my dog was having a minor emergency, they helped to comfort me and my dog. They didn’t charge me for anything that wasn’t absolutely necessary and helped to educate me on what was going on with my pup. Dr. Shirey was extremely professional, kind and you can tell he really cares about animals. He went above and beyond for us and I honestly can’t say enough about my visit today. This was my first time at this vet and honestly I went because of convenience and the urgency of the situation but I will be returning for regular procedures because of how great an experience I had today. Thank you Dr. Shirey and team you’ve made me and my pup feel so much better!

Dr Shirey and staff are so great! Kind and gentle with my extremely anxious pup.I would definitely recommend them to anyone. We toured the boarding area, it was clean and nice. Booked him an upcoming stay.

I have been a part of this clinic before they got into their new facility!! Every staff member has treated me and my kitties with the utmost respect and kindness!! I have been coming to them for years and will never ever change it! They even taught me how to use a pill popper and let me practice a few times. There is no better place to go in the East Texas area!

I have known multiple girls who have worked for these individuals and there's a clear reason for why these folks have a revolving door with their employees. The doctors here are the same ones who owned Starnes Vet. Which had a horrible reputation and their connections to Alexis animal clinic is just terrible. Besides all that, I've worked in veterinary medicine for years and have heard nothing but negative things about these guys. There's always a reason why a business can't keep staff.

I just have to give Rose City Animal Clinic on jville hwy a huge 10/10 rave. My fur baby has been sick from unknown etiology and this place has been absolutely wonderful, accommodating, and thorough. They even worked him in the same day I called! Great place and people!

Dr. Jou has always been fantastic with us. We had to put our cat to sleep recently and she was so kind. My daughter was with me and the experience was about as good as it could possibly be in that situation. Thank you!

I took my small Maltese dog there twice for boarding... the first time my dog returned home sick with vomiting and diarrhea found out they feed him another kind of dog food in which I told them not to...this second time just recently I boarded him for three days I picked him up he was not bathed and had a strong urine smell I asked her about the bath she said they put a instant shampoo on him, so I insisted she bath him she told me I would have to leave him an extra nite there and they bath him the next morning...this did not settle with me so I took him home and did the bath myself while bathing him I saw some scars on his back. I called and asked about it and they told me it was allergies he has had allergies but never like this. I am so done with this facility and if I were you I would not take your pet there....both times my experience was horrible....and all I can say is good riddance!!!!!!

Rose City is the best vet experience anyone could ask for. My cat had a dental emergency, and I am new to the area. The doctor personally called before starting the procedure and let me know what to expect. I could tell that he truly cares about the animals more than trying to add on extra sales. The prices are the most affordable I've seen after taking pets to several other vet clinics. The business is also very organized from check in to check out. Everything was explained in detail by the vet tech on what to expect/care after the procedure/time for questions. Fur babies are in good hands at this business...definitely recommend to anyone who needs top notch care for their fur babies!

Would not take my dying dog to this clinic. The front desk ppl are extremely rude and not helpful at all. And can’t be bothered with explaining medications. Just plain rude. The doctor didn’t know what the issue was with my daughter’s cat. I told her what I thought it was and the doctors said “no that’s not it” well, I was correct. I can’t have any confidence in a doctor who can’t even see obvious signs of distress. The staff also gave us 3 different prices. This place is a scam. I would never take an animal here. The front desk just wants you to leave! I can’t get over how rude they are.

The employees are so friendly and helpful. Dr Shirey is so thorough and loving with our cats. He thought our oldest kittie had a heart murmur…ran a quick test and discovered it was allergies…a quick injection and he’s back to his old frisky self.

It is well located. It is beautiful inside. The prices are very reasonably-priced. The front desk girls were not so hospitable. When I atrived there was only one, and she was on the phone. I get it, I do, but 10 minutes later she had yet to acknowledge me or even make eye contact. I found it rude.Upon picking up my pup there were several at the desk. One of the girls was able to get to me more quickly. However she was not really a people person and determined that I was to go to another building... then redacted it as it was closed. She then said the dog had yet to be washed. To which I responded by reminding her I drove 45 minutes to get here. She said 2 more hours. I asked if there was any way around this. Perhaps I could take the dog still somewhat wet or something. Hour at best, she said. I said ok, just call me and let me know as I had nothing to do and wound up waiting nearby in parking lot.2 hours later I go back, already frusterated as I went to go pick up the dog and wound up spending the whole day doing so. The non diplomatic girl, no longer there. A young man was however. I cannot recall his name but he understood the issue and was gone a time. I was under the impression he not only got ut but maybe dried off my dog himself. He was courteous and level headed. He was the saving grace as far as the front of the house goes. Brought dog out and all was well.Based on the look of the business and the history I was able to gather from the lobby I would say in all likelihood this come down to a good business having an issue with staffing and maintaining expectations in a world where customer service is lacking in younger people.I want to give this place another chance. I would advise the owners/managers this one friendly piece of advice. Not all animal loving people are the best with the public. Keep them in the back of the house in what ever capacity you can and keep the people that are good with people in the front to be the public face.
