DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ZERO STARS!!Horrible customer service skills and just basic people skills!!!! We called 3 weeks ago to get a price on our propane tank fill-up and we declined to get it filled at that time because price was high and today some woman came and put a pad lock on my tank valve when we weren’t home thinking we were gonna get it filled elsewhere.. my cameras picked up every move she made while she was trying to do it quickly and leave before anyone saw her but I will be contacting corporate in the morning.. DO NOT COME ON MY PROPERTY UNLESS YOU ARE INVITED PERIOD!!!!!!

We have spent three weeks trying to get a tank installed. They won’t call you back, they won’t send quotes as promised. I am done dealing with them. When I called to tell them to forget about it, they were totally unapologetic. No customer service.

Our delivery was needed during an outage for our generator. We called ahead and they provided delivery the next available day. It was a long and very hot day for the operator, and yet she had a great attitude. Our delivery was like at 8pm. We were very thankful as our propane was almost empty and our worst fear was losing all of our food. So thank you so very much for the long day that it took to get propane to us.

Suburban Propane is the absolute worst business I’ve ever dealt with! I would not recommend them to anyone. I had been leasing a tank from them and decided that it needed to be moved after 3 months of calling and emailing it had still not been taken care of apparently because a propane company has problems moving a full tank I finally told them to come get the tank off my property and they removed it from the property on that day but then they never reimbursed me for the full tank of propane that I had already paid for and then they tried to send me a bill for removal of their tank. I now own my own tank and I do not buy propane from suburban propane.

To rent a 250 gallon tank out of the Tyler office is 200 a year, and out of the Fort Worth office it is 65 a year, per Terrence the manager at the Tyler office. Said the are two totally separate markets. I get varying fuel prices by region, but It would seem that a corporation would have a standard rental rate.

Not off to a great start. Called to initiate service and got a call back from a location 1200 miles away. After that, it took 3-4 weeks to finally get a call-back to get the installation scheduled because they are short-staffed. They never did give me a firm price on the installation beforehand because they said I had to wait for a technician to call me with the numbers. A technician never called with the estimate, they just went ahead and scheduled the installation and then tried to charge over $400 for it. I was able to get that down to just over $300 after having them itemize the charges and discovered I was being charged for extra things. Was told that tank rental would be $55 but when I received the contract, it showed $99. Was told that they would call me to schedule the initial fill but after a week I ended up just calling them. On the plus side, everyone was friendly. Just seems like they need more help. For a nationwide company, I'm very surprised at the level of disorganization. I don't anticipate having to deal with them for at least a year when I'll need my next fill but if anything changes, I'll update this review.

I am desperate to leave another propane company here in Tyler as their customer service has repeatedly left me either enraged or in tears. I and my husband both called and were instructed to let our current tank get down to 10% so as not to lose too much propane we paid for. Well long story short now we're at 5%, Tyler location doesn't answer or return calls. I'm desperate not to give the other company money again but it looks like suburban is going to force my hand. I'm disappointed, and I saw that ownership is quick to respond to bad reviews so maybe this can get something done.

Just got a surprise in our bill, cost per gallon more than DOUBLED since last month. No warning given before the fill-up, just a tag with the amount owed on the door. I understand supplies are limited after the winter storm, and prices would increase. But we would have held off on a fill-up til prices settled down if we had known. Everyone's already getting slammed by electricity providers, so a little communication would have really helped.
