I’m writing this letter from a place of truth, care, and respect—for myself, for you, and for everyone who’s doing their best to serve others with integrity.
Doing right isn’t about being perfect. It’s about understanding the care it takes to help one another, to listen, and to grow. I’m not here to outshine anyone. I’m here to be honest, to be real, and to stand as someone who values character over competition.
Customer service, at its best, is about people trying to be the best version of themselves. It’s not about power or blame. It’s about learning through life’s experiences—lessons from God that shape us, humble us, and remind us that we’re all human. No one should be put on a high horse, and no one should be looked down on. We’re all part of the same company, the same community, and we all deserve respect.
If there’s a problem, go to the source. Don’t complain behind closed doors. Whether it’s an ATM issue or a misunderstanding, let’s work together to fix it the right way. Complaining doesn’t build character—accountability does. We all have defaults, but we also have the power to rise above them. Our character is shaped not by who we are on paper, but by how we treat others and how we honor ourselves.
I respect you. I respect my peers. I respect anyone who’s trying. And I ask that we all respect one another, flaws and all. Because that’s what it’s about—being proud of who we are, and letting others be proud of who they are too.
I’m autistic, and I’m proud. I’m proud of my voice, my journey, and my truth. And I’m grateful to those who help me along the way. Akaila, thank you for your help. And to everyone reading this—thank you for listening, and may you have a blessed day.
With respect,
Tatianna

⭐☆☆☆☆ RBFCU Fraud Department — Completely Unhelpful
I called about my refund, and the rep told me “Mastercard has the funds since we have a contract with them.” That makes no sense — I don’t have an account with Mastercard, I have one with RBFCU. The bank uses Mastercard, not the other way around.
RBFCU should’ve tracked and verified my refund instead of pushing blame elsewhere. I had to chase down answers on my own — completely unacceptable for a fraud department.

Always an issue with the atms. Every single time at this location. How do you upgrade the atms & they are worse than before? One day it doesn't want to take my checks or it doesn't accept cash deposits. Im switching to Chase.

I have used this RBFCU branch for many years. The service is always very good. I have used other RBFCU branches, but they tend to be less friendly.

Don't go to this bank. Especially the ones that are tied up with this one. They will give out false information they won't assist you at all to help. They have horrible customer service. Especially the representatives that they're trying to help open up a account. I totally advise to just go to any other bank because of this issue. They lost my trust and my service.

Kenneth Payton is The Man. Patient. Extremely knowledgeable. The #1 thing that impresses me about my phone call with Mr. Payton is THIS:
On the phone it didn't not feel like he was in a rush at all, and he actually mentioned things that I wouldn't have thought of that were highly valuable to me.
Not every customer service person at most companies care enough to suggest things related to the topic we were discussing which was Line of Credit and Over Draft Protection.
Thank you, sir. RBFCU continues to impress me.
They were doing virtual banking before Covid!
Final note: To any RBFCU manager reading this no matter how high up the ladder, Mr. Payton is a highly valuable person in my opinion. Why? In the tone of his voice, you can hear that he is wired, like me, to receive satisfaction from doing what he can to help a customer out to the best of his abilities.
That plus him being extremely knowledgeable, and having a top tier phone voice / tone...
Hopefully he's getting adequate raises each year so that another better offer doesn't come along in his life; so that RBFCU doesn't lose a truly valuable person such as Mr. Payton.
I'm 36, I've waited tables for 6 years, I've cold called before, I now service apartment pools. Mr. Payton is as experienced and professional as it gets; I'm betting he's already a high level manager.

Useless chat feature, don't waste your time.. you just get a robot or transferred to an agent that will make you call in. They declined transactions to the same vendor multiple days in a row.. After I called and said that vendor is valid and it was my transaction.. of course each time after a 30 minute wait and 2 transfers. And of course they don't operate 24x7.. so you might be stuck with a frozen card till the next day if their AI algorithm mistakenly freezes your card.

Was told today that the manager will not allow me to order any gold dollars. Because they don’t believe that the customers who placed orders for these items will come pick them up and then they’ll be stuck with them and they don’t wanna have to deal with the inventory issue. How amazing is this manager? You’re a terrible person and you ruined my birthday.

Beware of the Live Oak Location, they will give out your account information to anyone without your permission , they have done this several times, they supposedly have high standards of security but not to those who aren’t authorized account holders…...This happened to me so Please check your receipts especially at this time of year!

I have been with them for 20 years, have had multiple loans that I have never paid late on. On a new smaller loan, I thought the auto draft was set up and it wasn't incurring a small $5 fee for being a few days late but the lady I spoke to never told me that, instead they just took care of setting up the auto payments like everything else is. Fast forward 3 months later I called because I haven't been able to do mobile deposits since then. After an hour on the phone, they found out it was from that small late fee. No apology give , instead they acted like I was lying about speaking to someone about that 3 months. Unfreakinreal. Over a measly $5!!!! I don't care about the stupid $5, you have wasted months of my time unable to do mobile deposits then an hour on the phone until you could figure out why. The guy was extremely rude in the mortgage dept. I have an excellent record w this bank over 2 decades and this one interaction was so disappointing that it has really made me question staying with them. They don't feel like the same bank I started with. I'm surprised at the complete lack of customer service. Such a shame. If anyone can recommend a different credit union, I'm about to close my 7 accounts w RBFCU and go elsewhere.

Randomly holds paychecks for days even a week at a time and this was for the same type of paycheck I'd been depositing for over a year with nothing wrong with the paycheck. Everyone I know that has Rbfcu has been complaining about them a lot lately so look elsewhere for a credit union.
