Usually experiences at DPS establishments aren't all that great with the unhelpful responses but here we were happily greeted and quickly assisted. We waited in line filling out application but when we got to the window the lady definitely seemed like she had had enough of the day and it was only 3:40pm. We sat and waited for our number and the lady assisting us at the next window was super helpful, it's seemed like she was still new but she did great !
We went to the testing area , completed the test and didn't know what to do after , I had to stare down a lady to ask what to do next and was told to stand in a box and wait for someone to call us. It was that same ladies window we had to go to next. She could have been nicer too . And maybe said congratulations to my kid , you know , make it a positive experience.
As we were leaving the guy who greated us was pleasant and was honestly the reason I put a 5 star. He definitely made it a good experience.

Let me save you some time. They do not accept walk-in’s. If you show up they will make you scan a QR code to schedule an appointment online. You can’t sit and wait for a cancelation, they won’t even let you in the building without an appointment.

Diana at window 11 is an Angel! We came in confused and unsure if we’d even scheduled the correct appointment but because of her my daughter walked out confident and with a drivers license. DPS isnt usually the funnest place to be but she made it so much more funny and relaxed than I’d ever expect. She gave my daughter the confidence and encouragement she needed and we cannot thank her and this establishment enough. Come in with your paperwork in order but even if you don’t, everyone was super kind and helpful. Once again, thank you Diana, you absolute Queen!

The wait times are pretty atrocious, even with an appointment. The staff are all great and personable.

The staff at DPS at Pat Booker could not have been more helpful and considerate. The truth is that making the appointment, entering the crowded room, filling out a small print application, and waiting for your number to called can be exasperating — especially for a 71 year-old. However, the official who met me at the door immediately put me at ease and was overtly good to everyone who entered. He seemed to really enjoy directing people to the correct windows where they would received assistance. Furthermore, the lady who addressed my particular need was professional and warm. Kudos to all of you for caring for Texans!

Its best to make an appointment.
I went to renew my driver's license and it went quickly and smoothly. Diana who helped me was so friendly and was an awesome lady!

Unable to speak to a live person. It's an AI virtual assistant. If you want to speak to someone, you have to show up in person. Ridiculous. How does this help the disabled or working people?? Unbelievable.
