Sometimes when you are the only Hilton Brand in town the hotel isn't great but I was pleasantly surprised. I experienced a little issue with toilet not flushing properly and the hotel was prompt to get it fixed. The breakfast room and serving area was the cleanest I have ever experienced. The lady took her job very serious. Great job! If there was a downside it is located a little close to the Interstate so you have a little road noise but nothing you couldn't block out. The noise was worth the closeness to the off ramp. No complaints.

Love love loved it here.... Nicole was the best front desk agent ever.... The hotel I HAD reserved wouldn't let me park my car and trailer in their lot... I was so tired and stressed out after driving long hours and this was a happy accident find.... Nicole welcomed me and my trailer and offered parking right outside my room where I could peek at it in the night..... The room was almost perfect... Cute and colorful decor... Bed was a tad too hard for me but I had a foam pad in my U-Haul that I brought in .... The heater was perfect.... The breakfast was full of options from yogurt... Waffles.... Breakfast sausage, omelet's, salsa, potatoes...... Cereal..... Juices coffee and teas. Assorted breads for toasting..... Cream cheese and peanut butter which was great on the waffles. Peanut butter and syrup...Super fun breakfast attendant, kind and considerate young student from Argentina I think... All in all I loved it.... The only complaint I could have is that the doors all slam if you don't hold um and most people didn't.... So their comings and goings were a bit loud.... but loved the charging ports and power plugs next to the bed.... very convenient..... and the shower, though it was a handicap unit was so great, wonderful water pressure and plenty of hot water.........I WOULD definitely recommend this spot and will definitely add this my favorite stay place when going back n forth to calif.Safety: Well lit and you can park close to your room.Food & drinks: Great breakfast... Very clean layout and large assortment for breakfast options and a bright and colorful dining area.

Hands down the worst Hampton Inn I have stayed at.The gentleman at the front desk who checked me in, was fabulous. No complaints there. Personable, on top of things, made sure I got any discounts I was eligible for. He was the best part of my experience here. 10 out of 5 stars. The room was almost claustrophobic. It was about half the size of any other Hampton Inn room I have checked into. There was some construction going on at the front of the hotel...I am almost wondering if this was a different hotel that Hampton Inn bought and is trying to upgrade? There was a strange smell in the lobby and corridors that I am willing to blame on the construction, but my room also had an odd odor to it. It turned out to be the air unit...it was a terrible musty kind of smell. I ended up freezing all night because it smelled awful when I tried to put the heat on. All the regular amenities were basically there. Large screen tv, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator (but no freezer) ,. pool/hot tub, fitness room. No vending machines...snacks etc were available for purchase in the lobby. I will grant that everything was very clean and well kept up. The other reviews complaining about thin walls and noise were spot on. I am a heavy sleeper and I could clearly hear the guests in the rooms next to and above me...not to mention the sound of the heavy winds outside. All in all I felt like I payed $140+ for a hotel worth about $110 at most (and I am being generous with that assessment ) (As a side note: I stayed in town on a Saturday and every single non fast food restaurant was closed, regardless of what hours were posted online. Several had neon signs that said "open" along with another sign that said "closed". ) Hotel did offer a free hot breakfast that was in line with those served at other Hampton Inns. I am not someone who usually leaves reviews...but I just really felt I needed to in this case. For all I know, the other hotels in this town are no better, but if you stay at Hampton Inns regularly as I do, you should know this isn't up to par with what you are probably used to.

NO HOT WATER. Believe all the other reviews and just know that you will be taking a cold shower. When it is brought to the attention of the front desk, know they will act shocked and yet, you still will have a cold shower. Secondly, there are no phones in the rooms because they haven’t “decided when or if they are putting them back in”. When you use your cell phone to call the front desk of the hotel bc you are in your pjs and don’t want to put a bra back on, they won’t answer —- even at 8 pm. Just stay elsewhere. The room is very clean and sparkly but missing key ingredients that should always be in a room. Note to self: go elsewhere next time. $150 should earn me a hot, or at least warm, shower.

The hotel was very clean and updates. Yes the walls are thin but not so much that I would not stay there. Grear location ofd tge 10 for tired traveler's.The breakfast was nice and most of all Dante was extremely helpful and attentive.something that we just don't see now. I wish him the best. Very professional and takes pride in his job. This is the way it used to be before people started thinking they were doing a favor to just show up. The staff was nice too. Well done.

Rooms: Room was nice, freshly remodeled. Not a big deal, but actually smaller room than usual, not much space.Food & drinks: Loved the hot fresh breakfast! We are retired and travel a lots, on the road most of the time. This was the best breakfast spread we have seen in our travels ??

I stay in at this hotel when traveling from Phoenix to Austin with a cat and a dog. We've stayed there twice so far and I love that they're pet friendly and located right off of I-10. They were undergoing renovations in November, but it looked like they were mostly done when I was there in December. There's really not much in the way of food or dining in the area aside from a pizza shop, a small diner or two, and a few fast food restaurants, especially if you're arriving after dark or on the weekend. If you're traveling east through Texas, I'd recommend getting food in El Paso if you want something aside from fast food/gas station snacks. We're Hilton Honors members and we use the digital key and check-in/check-out feature which is very convenient. The hotel was at capacity both times we were there, so make sure to get your reservations made in advance. Reservations are easy to make with the Hilton Honors app, or by calling. The rooms were tidy and clean, and they leave the light on and TV set to the news channel for when you arrive. They also have a great selection of channels to watch including HBO which was a pleasant surprise. The room was small, but comfortable for a one night stay. There's plenty of grass areas outside to walk pets, though their potty bag stations were empty (no bags). Overall, parking lots were well lit after dark, the hotel was very quiet, and I had no safety concerns as a solo traveler with pets.I did end up getting locked out of my room on my first stay (the privacy latch flipped when the door shut behind me- woops, my bad lol). The attendant at the front desk was very helpful in getting me back into my room in a professional and timely manner. I plan to continue using Hampton Inn Van Horn for our travels in the future!Traveler Tip: The Chevron gas station right next to the hotel is always MUCH more expensive ($0.70-0.80 more per gallon) than the gas stations a mile farther into town. I recommend the Love's or Pilot Travel Center down the road instead.

So the place meets Hamptons' standard of cleanliness, but it was newly remodeled which made it nice enough but the walls are so thin we heard our neighbor snoring so loudly my husband thought I fell asleep and it was me. I mentioned earlier it was coming from next door. Also, you can hear anyone talking in the hallway as if they are in your room. Also the doors will slam itself shut if you don't catch it to make a soft close so it's really loud. Otherwise the place is great, the service was wonderful and Angie was a wonderful hostess for breakfast warm and friendly. Most all of the staff was really nice.

Under construction! Was not aware when we booked. We have stayed here many times and have been happy, but our remodeled room now has blinds that let in light. If your room faces the courtyard, it’s like security lighting inside the room.Tesla chargers are no longer available.Wont be back.

The hotel was undergoing interior and exterior renovations during our stay in late November. However, the service was uninterrupted and very good. No hot breakfast was served but it was okay. Would return if possible.

Currently under construction, so bear that in mind. Room was clean and quiet enough for one night. Staff were courteous. Be a five star once the construction is done. The roads in and out are quite bizarre. Van Horn did some strange stuff for being a small town.

This place is under construction until the end of the year. Stay away. There was no clear path from our room to the front desk and dining area. We had to either go outside or climb a flight of stairs. There was an old a/c unit sitting in the stairwell for the duration of our stay. This is a fire escape route and a major OSHA violation. The most expensive hotel on our trip and the worst. Shame on Hampton.

I give a one due to Holly Bailey and her nonsense, she really needs to detox her up bringing and learn that we are all one in nature. Our story:Holly Bailey is a racist Regional Manager. My sister work there, and as of right now, Bailey has basically forced her out the building. Bailey uses words that are racist to brown skin employees, which in turn hurt the employees, to where they don't want to be around her. She isn't at the location all the time, as her main location is in New Mexico. We will be contacting an attorney about this matter. No one should feel less than anyone else while at work. Especially when they are the BEST workers in the building.
