Lost Maples State Natural Area is a beautiful outdoor destination known for its stunning fall colors, which are spectacular year-round. The park attracts many visitors during weekends and holidays in the fall, so visiting on weekdays or reserving a Day Pass can help ensure entry. The area offers a variety of trails suitable for experienced, expert, and mild hikers, featuring high peaks, steep terrain, and many miles of challenging yet fun trails. Hikers should bring sturdy shoes, as the rocky terrain can be unforgiving and easy to lose footing. The views from the top are fantastic and well worth the effort, with some trails providing peaceful and scenic experiences. The park is also family-friendly, with trails accessible for kids and dogs, all following leash rules. Facilities include outhouses along the trails, and options for camping, biking, and day use. Overall, Lost Maples is a pristine, well-maintained place perfect for outdoor activities and enjoying nature’s changing colors.
Beautiful park even in winter. Very unique natural features, including the grotto and monkey rock. I highly recommend camping, hiking, and not looking at your phone or even the time of day!

Great for experienced, expert and mild experienced hikers. Bring your hiking shoes because the rocks are unforgiving and easy to lose your footing. This is not an easy hike. But very fun with high peaks and many miles of trails. Have fun and enjoy

Quite a strenuous hike, but so worth it! Fantastic views and so peaceful. Terrain was very steep in places so come prepared. Really spectacular view from the top.
