With no notice, they locked their gates today, Mother’s Day! Citing “weather” the reality is poor management! They could have hired crews to do the necessary work. Probably did not want to pay extra for weekend work. There was a line of cars waiting to enter to visit their moms. No one even there to e plain to people. We ordered flowers, mariachis were slated to come etc all to pay our respects to our mom. Imagine our dismay to find locked gates!

PSA: Please zoom into these pictures! Pictured below are the so called "storage" placed behind 2 dumpsters at Camero Funeral Home's Cemetery on Hwy 16! My father's items have gone missing multiple times now from his plot. After my finding out all my father's birthday stuff from Feb 27th had been removed less than a week later, I immediately called the funeral home. I was told I could search the "storage" for the missing items. (None of which were there) But my heart absolutely broke when I saw these bins! People's loved ones worked so hard to decorate their family and friends only to be deemed "unallowed" by Camero and tossed away. No family ever gets contacted by the groundskeepers or funeral home staff to say the items are unfit for the cemeteries' plots!! So many pictures of people, so many personalized items and what hit hardest was the veterans cross! IS THIS HOW WE RESPECT SOMEONE WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY CAMERO? I share this in hopes of finding the people who's items have names on it to return it to their family somehow. I don't know how often they clean out their storage, so time is of the essence! I wouldn't want any other family feeling how the way we felt showing up to their loved ones plot only to find it empty!! Please share in the hopes that Camero Funeral Home's rules and policies change! Atleast a courtesy call to the family to pick up sentimental items left for their loved ones would be nice! Policies are handled horribly!! This is beyond appalling and hurtful! Update: 3/13/2023

This cemetery is extremely particular about everything. It’s both good and bad. It consist of two separate companies at the same location that will up charge two separate expenses if you decide to have prearrangements with them. So don’t think you’re getting an “all N one “ burial package . You have to buy both to have your funeral expenses there & another package to have your burial expenses. They have sales reps that can negotiate the price so it’s not a flat equal rate. If you have a deceased family member needing to be buried soon... you’ll likely have to pay the premium or maximum amount. Getting paper work done for burials takes HOURS, likely because they are short staffed. The Director seems to hate dealing with people and obviously doesn’t like speaking with people over the phone with questions so she’s short with you. Be sure to have a list of questions ready and what insurance covers and what services the funeral covers ... have it in writing! Have “your quotes written down and signed”. Things get wishy washy and glazed over so important details are missed with what you have to pay for. Make prearrangements years ahead of time so loved one don’t deal with paying extra nickels and dimes for everything. Cost: $8,500-10K

The moment we contacted Tito Ochoa with Camero Funeral Home in Von Ormy,Texas; Our family was taken in hand and assisted throughout the entire cremation and funeral process.Mr. Ochoa explained in detail how, what and when to expect events. With each event, we were called and informed of the progress and process of our loved ones journey. These phone calls eliminated any questions and fears we might have experienced. We are grateful to Tito Ochoa and the entire Camero Staff for the professional conduct and genuine care for our family.Sincerely,Nancy Cooper

It been almost two years since my mom has passed and as I sit here and reflect on one of the most difficult times in my life I thought about the difficult process of preparing a memorial for my mom. I didn’t know what to do or where to start.. and I cannot express how genuinely happy I am that I went to Camaro and Tito Ochoa was the one who helped me with EVERYTHING. I don’t know what I would have done if it hadn’t been for Tito to guide me through this process. He was so caring and compassionate about everything he really put me at ease. I found tremendous comfort knowing that Tito handled everything for my mom and her services. My family complimented him and had nothing but wonderful things to say about Tito after the service as well. I know it’s taken me too long to say so but I could never thank Tito enough for everything and especially treating us like family, instead of like “clients”.
