The Owner of the Crossfit Gym has now opened up a home remodeling business called JR Renovations. We contracted with her to renovate our property in April 2022 and gave her a deposit of $27K. Absolutely no work has been done to date and she refuses to refund our deposit claiming she has spent countless hours on the project. She has been saying that her attorney will be contacting us for 3+ weeks now and we have not heard back in spite of multiple emails. The only communication we get from her is abusive and foul language via text message when we look for others on social media to discuss their experience with JR Renovations. This has caused us significant financial and mental stressUpdate: 07/23/2022: I am now being threatened with "slander" in response to this review. The definition of slander is "A false statement, usually made orally, which defames another person." Everything I stated above it the truth can I can prove it.

Juliana at JR Renovations previously owned a CrossFit gym under the name JR CrossFit (as most reviews here refer to) but she more recently has been focusing on renovations. After talking to 2 of her references, I felt comfortable giving her a 50% deposit ($17,850) for a renovation job. She initially asked for 75% down but we compromised at 50%. She told me she had remodeled all the Altura lofts in Waco but it turns out she had done this as a designer at design co but not as a general contractor. She misled me. evidently she had no experience with commercial permitting for renovations because it took her almost 4 months to obtain a permit for my remodel (leading to thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to delays) and other contractors working on commercial permits for our building were getting their permits approved in 3-4 weeks or less. There have been many weeks where she will not answer my call, texts or emails and she comes up with multiple excuses such as “my phone broke”. She also began priming my walls for paint before the texturing and electrical were complete (knowing sheetrock would need to be cut and replaced for the electrical work) and, when questioned about why she was priming parts of the wall when the wall wasn’t complete, she became defensive and angry. I asked her to stop working on my project after less than 5k of work has been complete because it was clear about her lack of experience. She refuses to provide any type of refund, stating she has to go through her attorney for any refunds. It has now been weeks without any word from her or her attorney about a partial refund. I would be happy to update this review once this matter is resolved.

I dropped in while on vacation and it was a wonderful experience! The coach was very encouraging and takes care of there members very well! If I lived in the area I would for sure go to this gym on a daily! Great program and fun

I traveled to Waco for business and had time for a wod. I showed up as a drop in before class and they were more than accommodating. The free drop in rate did not hurt either. The coach took the time to get to know me and showed me around their box. The box itself was well taken care of with exceptional equipment. Great people to be around and will definitely drop in again.

JR CrossFit was very accommodating to me when I dropped in from out of town. The gym and staff was very welcoming and I enjoyed my time visiting. Will definitely drop in again if I’m ever back in the area.

It’s an awesome family environment .... workout levels from beginner to championship levels .... no one is competing just helping one another ... my family has been their since the doors opened and Absolutly love it !!!

I moved here from another gym. The cultire and family oriented and support, motivating vibes that ooze out of this box is amazing. From coaches all the way through every athlete thats here, it's nothing but fun and love while reaching and crushing goals. Awesome place! If you are reading this, join this gym.

Great time today at JR CrossFit! I called them today and told them I am here on business and asked about a drop in! They asked me what class I would like and the welcomed me right in as if I was one of their own. I met a few of the coaches and enjoyed the atmosphere that I have come to know with CrossFit! The fellow athletes here encouraged and gave it their all also! A true family atmosphere here! Definitely recommend that you check this place out if you come to Waco. If you live here, join them and experience this for yourself! You will not regret it!

JR CrossFit is a great place to start or continue your fitness journey. I’ve been part of this community just short of two years. I feel like I’m in the best shape of my adult life at 58 years old. Awesome coaches and a supportive community!
