PSA!!! I don’t usually do this at all but we were humiliated and stereotyped yesterday at University Kia. We get there looking for a vehicle for my sister so she was excited about getting a new vehicle. All is well in the beginning we start talking numbers and negotiating the price and what not and the “product specialist” kept going to the manager to “work out the numbers” anyways we weren’t coming to an agreement because the numbers didn’t meet my sisters budget so it was just a back and forth with them. So fast forward to the end when we had told the manager TANNER at University Kia that we were going to pass because they couldn’t meet our numbers he proceeded on getting rude with us. First, he humiliated my brother in law saying why wouldn’t he agree on the price, the manager said and I quote “is it because YOU don’t have the $2,000 for the down?” And my brother in law was caught off guard and he just nodded his head that he does. Then, the manager proceeds questioning about his credit score asking if he even had an established credit line and my brother in laws said yes I actually have a good credit score and he proceeds on telling him his credit score (which is great for a 20 year old) and the manager TANNER says “well I have an 800” like okay? Why are you trying to humiliate him? And that’s when I get furious and walked off before I say something or do something because you’re not about to humiliate my family. AND THEN!!! After I start walking off and my sister and brother in law are following me the manager proceeds on telling my sister “ next time come by yourself because I’m not selling a car to 3 people I’m selling it to you” basically stereotyping that girls are “dumber” on making a purchase and “easier” to scam. Awful awful service!! And the worst of all is they didn’t even offer to give us a ride back to were we parked because we parked at their used lot and they took us to their kia dealer and we had to WALK BACK! Never going back and neither should you! They have that scamming mentality and horrible service! Please save yourself your time, money and take your business elsewhere.

Margarito made my car buying experience so effortless. I despise spending time at dealerships. Him and his team made the process quick and worked in my budget. I won’t buy a car from anyone but Margarito from now on!

I don’t even want to give them 1 star. My car has been in and out of the shop since May. I purchased a 2025 Sportage in Sept 2024. The transmission started giving me issues so I took it in and they replaced transmission. Two weeks later it was having the same issue so I took it back. They kept the car for a month and replaced the transmission again. I get my car and it is filthy. It looks like something was dripped in my back seat. Have no idea what it was. I told someone and they ended up cleaning it for me. Pictures below. My car was still having issues and I couldn’t take it in because they didn’t have any loaners available. Finally took my car back at the beginning of August and today I get a call stating they can’t figure out what’s wrong it and need to come get it. It’s been 4 months of no communication. No one ever calls you back or responds to the texts messages. I was told I have 24 hours to pick up my car and return the rental or I will be held liable for the rental. Forbid someone have a job…I can’t just pick up and leave and miss scheduled meetings. The people are rude and disrespectful. Do not buy from this place or use their service dept. My car is still not fixed but I’m supposed to go get my car and drive it. Kia engineering can’t figure out what’s wrong with it so they told the dealership to return it back to the owner. I was told there were 3 other cars there with same issue. So now I just need to drive a car that isn’t operating properly. I filed a lemon law claim on this vehicle in August and KIA doesn’t want to settle so I’m headed to court in Feb.

At first it was a great experience, I went in and traded my truck for a K5. I had to go through Navy Fed because Kia was offering me too high of an APR, all they had to do was send Navy Fed a check for my trade in value to get my loan finalized. It has now been a month and the loan was denied because they took too long after I repeatedly called and texted to ask about the timeline of the check. I called today to try and talk to Manny (salesman) or Danny (finance) and when I was transferred it rang three times then went to voicemail, so I left a voicemail and still haven’t been called back. Now I have to take time out of my day and drive an hour to Waco because they won’t pick up the phone. Unprofessional, you’re supposed to take care of your customers and this is the exact opposite.

Rarely do you find individuals in the car retail business that almost from the start you can feel their trust worthiness and a sense of real interest in you as a person, not a potential commission on a vehicle sell.
This is what my wife and I felt almost immediately from Matthew Bice at University.
Matt provided us information but more so requested our input into our needs and wants. His listening skills are outstanding and his ability to convey interest into a customer needs is rarely seen in today's retail world...
Matt did not sell us a truck, Matt provided resources for us to determine what we wanted to purchase.
We are in our 70's and this interaction was definitely one of the best of our adult buying lives.
Thanks University for having a Matt Bice on board!
UPDATE: less than 3 weeks after purchase I had to have a compete brake job ( both pads and rotors) done on truck. And now the key ignition locks up so another trip to local repair shop...
Every week it seems the University pre-sale inspection team missed the truck needing noticeable repairs before sale.
Be careful on what you are told.
And to add to this, I had to spend extra money (after paying $1000 for purchase and installation) to have my Kenwood radio with carplay reinstalled and rewired.
When I notified Matt at University of the problem he reassured me we would get a warranty and all paid by originally installer; Jerry's Audio in Waco.
But when the local audio shop called they refused.
Yes.. Jerry's Audio in Waco would not help on costs even though Matt did his best to help us.
Except for Matt Bice, I am so disappointed at what I had originally thought to be a good used car dealership.

I recently purchased a car from Kia. Patrick “Cornbread” made this process so easy and quick. I’ve had a lot of car purchases over the years and this was absolutely the best experience, and he got me into a brand new car after I’ve gotten denied from other places.
