“For the shop I give 4 stars. For the DIXIE BELL GLAZE AND WAX I GIVE a -10. I've used lots of different chalk paints, waxes and glazes that are used with chalk paint. I used to refinish and sell vintage furniture so I'm very experienced with the dark waxes and glazes. I used the Dixie Bell Manatee Gray for this project. It looks gray in the jar but dries with a blue tint. If you want gray blue then that fine. The Dixie bell wax does not bond with the paint it can be rubbed completely off. Even a few days later. You don't want that! Annie sloans wax bonds with the paint if you rub it in well. Now for the glaze. It's awful!!! It's way to dark, almost opaque. I was told to add water but even very thin it's too dark. You have to brush it on then brush it off quickly. Work very fast and be careful not to overlap your strokes because it will remove the glaze where you overlap. Don't try to do a second coat because your brush will start removing the first coat and you will end up with a streaky mess. I ended up taking a wet washcloth and wiped the whole top down then use a paint pad over what I wiped off to fix it. So therefore the glaze is water soluble even after it dries. That's really bad! I'm going to have to buy a clear topcoat to preserve what I've done. I'm worried it will again pull up or streak the glaze. I will never buy this product again. Oh and BTW the brown wax and brown glaze are very different colors they don't match at all. The paint does go a long way and the wax does rub on easily but rubs off too easily.”
