I have been a Coastal patient for over 20 years. The doctors are first class and the staff is friendly and clearly engaged. However, for some reason that is unknown to me, their ability to schedule appointments is worse than poor. Expect to wait at least an hour to see a technician. Your patients are frustrated and discuss this amongst themselves while they are all waiting with out any idea about the length of the delay they will have to endure. FYI.

I saw Dr Lutz for refraction at the Webster office The staff was efficient and informative. Dr Lutz was knowledgeable and gave very good suggestions and explanations. I definitely recommend Dr Lutz and Coastal Eye Associates.

My intention was to find a location where I could get an eye exam and a consultation for possible procedures available since I've had LASIK once and my vision is deteriorating. I explained this when I scheduled the appt. What I received was an eye exam, where I felt like I was being blamed for having difficulty distinguishing between different lenses when none of the options were clear enough to see details. I did receive a written prescription for glasses and was escorted to the front desk to pay for my services and received a card to call back and set up a time for a consult, which it wasn't clear if the consult is complimentary or not. No mention of how to go about getting new lenses or frames or who to talk to, just thank you that's everything. I hesitated and stood looking around, could clearly see where the frames were displayed, everyone there seemed to be busy doing whatever they were doing and so I just walked out. I specifically went to a larger location that had the ability to meet all my needs and left without having those needs met. If I had only wanted an eye exam, I would've gone back to the previous location where I felt like I was treated as a person rather than a number. I'm sure the exam was thorough and the doctor was competent but the experience was severely lacking and did not meet my expectations. I won't be back.
