You cannot bring your clothes in a trash bag here. You find that out when you arrive. This should be posted on their IG and other places online for people to prepare themselves. The girls working were not very friendly. The store is a mess and I didn’t even shop in there because it was so gross looking. They need to go to other Plato’s Closets and fix how they operate. Would not recommend or go back.

It seems to be the consensus that this store has gone down hill in the buying process since the beginning of this year and I couldn’t agree more.
In August, during tax free weekend approximately the 9th and the 10th, I went to go sell a tub of clothes and was told I would have to wait in the store for the entire duration until I got paid out. That would be an hour or 2 in the store with no seating and people already loitering about. So I decided to leave and asked when the best time would be to return. They expressed the end of the month would be the best time. Alas I return in the beginning of September, I was greeted with a sign that said, we are not accepting buys from 2-4 and after 4 it would be store credit only. I asked why and was advised, the store ran out of cash, essentially. I inquired when the best time to return would be and they said tomorrow we will be doing cash again. So I came back the next day around the same time and, you guessed it, store credit only. I mentioned to the employee that when I arrived the day prior I was told there would be more cash for buys. This employee gave more insight saying it’s best to come early in the day before any other buys come in as that’s the best way to ensure a cash buy instead of store credit. I asked again when the best time to return would be and was told the beginning of any day is the best time to get cash. I decided a Sunday morning at 11:00 should work out just fine.
Fast forward to this most recent Sunday, yesterday, I arrived to the store at 10:58am and it opened at 11:00. Employee at the check in counter told everyone at opening that all buys are required to wait in the store for the first hour. I was fine with this because I was the first one to check in and hand over my tub. A little less fine because the store was FREEZING. Blisteringly cold. But then 20 minutes went by and people who came in after me were getting texts their buys were done. I’m a patient person and just figured since I had more items it would take slightly longer. Then 35 minutes went by and 2 more people who came in WAY after me were getting texts their buys were ready. Meanwhile, my link I was texted still said sorting and would be ready approximately 12:30 pm. As the first to check in that didn’t make sense. So at the 50 minute mark I asked an employee at the front desk if my tub was done yet since others after me were leaving before me. The buyer, looking around confused, says yeah I finished that a while ago.
My link still said sorting; approx 12:30, BTW.
I waited 50 minutes in a COLD, FREEZING, ARTIC store for them to offer 11.17$ for 5 items. Passed up on my Michael Kors, Fabletics, lulus, ohpolly, and Francesca’s items all in brand new condition. (Some with tags) ??? WHILE there are shirts on the rack with holes, sweaters with pilling and fraying, and skirts that have been washed so many times holes could produce at any minute, oh and a white tank top with a black stain on the back.
During my 50 min wait I decided to experiment, I grabbed a really cute Zara sweater that was pilling in the elbows and side stitching and fraying in the front, this sweater was marked at 10$ and I asked someone at the front desk if this item could be sold for 5$ based on everything wrong with it. They said they could do 20% off still making it 8$.
4 months waiting and driving around for disappointment.
I implore anyone reading this to just give it to goodwill, sell on Facebook/depop, or drive to the Pearland location.

They under pay for sells and over charge for purchase. They wanted to buy 6 items for $7.05. One of the items being a 2 piece button down short set. I wasn't expecting an abundance of money for it, but $1 for it was absolutely ridiculous!

Horrible I sat and waiting to get checked out , not to mention the employees are talking about if they should buy item during working hours and what they spent the day before for a purse so. I left and didn't buy my item. I guess it was more important to talk amongst them self and what they find

This store is the worse. They do NOT tell you that that do not take items in trash bags. And when they speak to you very condescendingly regarding the stores policy like we as customers should know the policy.

Horrible business practices. It’s bad enough that they hardly pay you for what they take and resell, but there is zero customer service and they make it very inconvenient and basically difficult for you to be able to sell. Im sorry but requiring that you stay inside the store whenever there are seven people in front of you is unrealistic. It’s a shame Goodwill is getting EASILY a thousand dollars worth of men’s brand new/hardly worn jeans and shirts. Plato’s loss… at least get a tax write off slip from Goodwill. Such a shame.

All three stars are for the last 10 years that I've been taking clothes here. I am giving zero stars starting from the beginning of this summer until now. First of all, it was that you could not drop off clothes and had to wait in the store. This caused the store to be full of people sitting and laying all over the store on the floor because even if you wanted to shop while waiting, you can only shop for so long and step over so many bodies.
One day, I called and they told me that in 2 hours, I could drop off. I got there at the 2 hour mark and nope. I've been trying to drop off one bag of clothes forever. I finally gave up on summer and waited until two days ago. Well, you can drop off now but you can only get cash if you drop off the minute the store opens. After that, only store credit. I went today at opening and it was insanity so I left. The reason they gave for only giving store credit unless you are there right when they open is that they are getting too many clothes. Well, how does giving store credit instead of cash work into that? Unless they know that people don't want store credit and will just walk out. So, it's now become less profitable for me to even drop off again. Time is money too. I've spent way too much time driving there to be turned away for one reason or another...that reason changes. Also, so many of the clothes are summer that I'm sure they are not taking anymore that I just donated them.
I'm not sure if it's new management or what but now the employees seem to be timed on sorting. I've watched them not even look at labels and just glance and toss within like 1/10th of a second.
I know that me not dropping clothes off anymore won't matter to the people here. I mean their entire goal now is to stop people from dropping things off. So, you're welcome. One less person to worry about now.
Also...the new manager is very very aggressive. I have not had any interaction with her, it's just an observation on how she deals with not only the employees but also customers.

Make sure to call beforehand to update all their ridiculous rules. Waited 3 hours just for them to tel me it’s been ready (no text message, process link shows as sorting stage). They gonna have multiple spontanious pause on dropping off clothes whenever they like and you can’t do nothing other than wait, no item in trash bag, rude staffs( the cashier won’t even let you finish you sentence when you just wanted to ask how’s your day been). Went in with everything sorted and folded nicely, just for them to return it to me all messed up, the bag is torned apart

This store’s policies are worse than most platos. You’re better off going to any other one.
They force you to stay in the store if you want to sell and waste your time. Even with this policy it doesn’t seem like sorting clothes or buys is prioritized.
