How is an address that’s less than 4 miles from the shelter not within jurisdiction? This shelter is useless and the people who work here are straight up rude! No wonder they have 2.7 stars ?

I visited the shelter today, and I wanted to share the information that I couldn't find from google before I visited. The shelter hours are as follows:Sunday: ClosedMonday: open until 4:30pmTuesday: open until 4:30pmWednesday: open until 4:30pmThursday: open until 4:30pmFriday: open until 11amSaturday: ClosedTo visit the shelter, park in the main Public Works parking lot and walk to the front service desk (see photo). A worker will walk you over to the shelter building. Please do not walk on your own as there is some construction, safety first. The shelter has cats and dogs available for adoption; there are 16 kennels for dogs and 16 for cats.Pets are posted online on Petfinder and Rescueme. The man running the shelter, John, is very knowledgeable and helpful!I hope this helps anyone looking for more info on our Webster Animal Shelter.

They were very kind, and though its certainly a small shelter, you can tell they do the best they can for the animals under their care. Highly recommend adopting from here.

Excellent experience with Webster Animal Control! Looking for owner of this precious Tabby Cat. She longs for her family. She's very affectionate and appears to have been an indoor pet. Has collar on with bell ?.

This department is almost as much of a dumpster fire as the Webster Police department. There is absolutely no way to call this place or get a hold of them without just showing up to a facility with almost no real physical address. What in the world is going on here? This is another one of the Webster dumpster fires like it's police department

I came to the shelter to try and return a lost cat to their owner when I found the cat by my job. The shelter tried to contact the owners but couldn’t reach them, so they said they’ll keep the cat until the owners call back. Then, after leaving work again 2 weeks later, I found the same cat again! Seems like they released him and he was wondering the streets at night! Will try a different shelter for the sake of this cat.

The Webster Animal Shelter is difficult to find. It is located on the grounds of Public works facility. There are no signs of any kind showing where it is. They must have hidden it so far for a reason. They probably don't want the public to see the sorry state that the animals are in. When we arrived to look at the cats, we found a very dirty room with a few cages. The cats had no blankets or beds or pillows or food or anything. Just iron cages with glass doors. The cats behaved like crazy when they saw us as if they'd never seen people before. It's a shame that the City of Webster puts cats in this Azkaban. They spend tons of money on various useless activities and can't buy a few blankets for cats and provide them with toys and space to play. Shame on you, Webster!

Very unprofessional. I attempted several times to contact animal control about an injured cat and left a message which was never returned. The business has no easily accessible phone number or main point of contact to reach out to or a separate website from the city's main page. After trapping the animal myself they sent a team to retrieve it but were unable to answer any direct questions or provide any information to me. They later claimed that the animal was too injured, but could not provide any details or information about the injury. They also stated they were too underfunded to perform an operation and had opted to put it down instead.

Please Webster! Hire people who are passionate about animals! It is a MUST for this position. It's sad when calling in a distressed animal that needs help and the people in charge are apathetic to the situation.

I adopted my beautiful GSD from this facility and couldn’t be more pleased. She not only met us on her day off, but on a Sunday. She truly cares for these animals and isn’t about the turnover. She truly wants them to go to good homes. Raina, formerly Shasta, is a wonderful addition to my family and we are really well matched. I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to ask questions and have my concerns alleviated while getting to meet and spend time with Raina before I made a decision. And coming in on a Sunday because that is the only day I could drive the 4 hours to get her... above and beyond.
