My mother recently used Ferrellgas for the first time to fill the propane tank on her property. She requested 350 gallons, and the driver came out to complete the delivery. She was billed immediately after the fill, as agreed. However, after the driver left, she discovered that her gas was not working. When she called Ferrellgas to report the issue, she was told that it would take up to two weeks for someone to return to her home to check out the issue and it would include a trip fee of $100+ to address the issue. My mother is almost 70 years old and lives alone. She didn’t know why the gas wasn’t working and couldn’t wait two weeks without the ability to cook or take a warm shower. As a result, she had to call another company for a service call. That technician discovered the issue was simply that the outdoor propane valve had been left off by Ferellgas and he charged her $150 to fix it.
To make matters worse, Ferrellgas later sent her an additional bill for $50, despite the fact that she had already agreed on a total price of $799 for 350 gallons, which included a two-day delivery fee. When she called and showed documentation of the agreement, they removed the $50 charge, but this should never have happened in the first place.
This entire experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially considering the vulnerability of elderly customers like my mother. It’s completely unacceptable, and after this ordeal, we will never use Ferrellgas again!
