If I could give 0 stars, I would. I bought a 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby as a surprise for my husband from Ford/Payne in Weslaco, working with our usual salesperson. I paid for an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty, plus extra for tire and rim protection. The very next day, all warning lights came on — the car had been modified to run on E85 fuel, but we were told to use premium. Tony Rivera, the Ford service manager, didn’t even know the car was modified. The original owner had to show up to explain what Ford didn’t.Ford’s inspection failed to document the tire tread depth, even though the car had Mickey Thompson tires. Because of ongoing issues, we brought the car to Chevy, where the final sale happened. But Jacob Reyes kept sending us back to Ford, and I was constantly getting the runaround. Malachi at Chevy originally said the warranty would cover the tires (which had punctures), but then changed his answer, saying it wouldn’t due to tread depth.Getting help was nearly impossible — I had to drive from Harlingen 4–5 times a week just to speak to someone. Finally, I spoke with Pete, a Chevy manager who had helped with a previous issue. He said the tires passed inspection yet there was no number on the dept for inspection to began either so it was on me to replace them. That made no sense , I had brought the car in for punctures, not wear. No one ever flagged the tread in my March or June 2025 maintenance visits.I ended up spending $1,200 out of pocket for new tires. Chevy said they’d install as courtesy due to all the issues, but then tried charging me $30 per tire after keeping the car for three weeks.Bottom line: The extended warranty I paid extra for was useless. Between Ford and Chevy, the service was disorganized, unprofessional, and completely frustrating. Be very cautious when buying from Payne this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and make sure when you purchase extended warranty to make sure it actually covers , this experience was trash as for the warranty.

Jesus Treviño was really helpful, knowledgeable and even followed up with all the accessories that were added. Definitely going back for our next purchase.

Very disappointed in the service at Payne Ford. Dropped off our truck nearly two weeks ago for a mirror replacement and another issue that “needed diagnosing.” That diagnosis took three days—yet the tech had the answer the moment he entered the VIN number.
After all that time, we picked it up dirty. No wash, no attention to detail. At Sam’s in McAllen, they return vehicles looking like new. Payne Ford should take notes—customers deserve better.

Place is a joke don't even bother coming here for service.Place is slow and always having excuses.Brought my truck in for a inspection and my appointment was for 930am and got there at 940am and never was my truck F-150 put in for service they kept giving me excuses and decided to go somewhere else for service...I recommend not coming here at all for service...I guarantee you will be waiting a long time and when you ask for an update on your vehicle they will give you an excuse...Don't say I didn't warn you....

Took truck for an oil change. I was the 3rd person to arrive before 7:30 am, service opened at 8am on Saturday. Courteous and fast service. I was impressed as of wait time was less than what was the proposed duration of service.

I’m beyond frustrated with the service department at Payne Ford. I scheduled a diagnostic for my 2023 Ford Lightning back on July 14, and dropped it off on July 21. I was told by John it would take a couple of days to diagnose. That was a lie.
I called on July 24 — they hadn’t even touched my truck. On July 25, I spoke with a supervisor who said they would start the diagnostic. Then on July 28, I called again and was told the issue was finally diagnosed and the part would be ordered by July 30.
Today is July 31 and I haven’t heard a thing. I’ve tried calling multiple times, and John never answers, not on the office line or even his personal cell. Every time I call, the staff has no idea what’s going on and just transfers me to him — and again, no answer.
This is hands down the worst service experience I’ve ever had at any dealership. Zero communication, no accountability, and I’m left without my vehicle for almost two weeks with no clear answers.
If you value your time and sanity, I recommend you avoid the service department at Payne Ford. Completely unacceptable.

The advisors at this dealership have no sense of communication to its customers. This is the second and last time I take my vehicle for service since they cannot afford to give a call back or a message. Both times they have tried to overcharge and only on the second did they get away with it, they don't seem to care about others time and would rather like to be confronted in person from my experience, please teach your advisors to have better communication!

WARNING! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE!
One day, it didnt turn on and I took it in. That was 14 months ago! They claimed it was 3 different things all at once which DIDNT MAKE SENSE. Then when they replaced the items, it didnt work so it was something else and they kept adding things on. The car did NOT break 5 things overnight.
They have transferred 3 different mechanics to my car because they have been fired or quit because they dont know what theyre doing.
I have been patient and understanding for OVER a year. I need my car back. Do NOT trust these mechanics.
