I have used 299 Auto several times plus my brother took his older suburban to Barry. It was a total mess. But Barry saw possibility in it & revived it. It now deives great. So of course I cont to take mine to Barry also. I recently drove up over concrete
Barriers. A tow truck got me off of them. My only hope was Barry or total it.
You can trust what he tells you & advises! He does not over-sell!!
He replaced the entire oil pan, filter & oil, plus sent me to a specific shop for alignment! Four hrs w/ Barry & 1 hr w/ at his referall & its all fixed. He saved me soo much money.
Barry cares about his customers & has never advised me wrong. I totally trust him. Where others overcharge, his only charges what is nessassery & fair. He obviously cares about his business having repeat business & that we are treated right. Not taken advantage of!
His faith also shows in how he runs his business & relates to his customers.

Brought truck in and made appointment for repair of coolant lines. Dropped truck off at appointment time 8am. Received estimate. OK for repair. A couple hrs later got text that truck was ready for pickup. Drove it a few times. No problems , great job!

Barry and the team at 299 Automotive in Longview TX did an awesome job repairing my 2009 Silverado. I knew I had a few issues with my truck: check engine light recently came on, I had noticed a slow oil leak, and heard a pop sound sometimes when I would make a turn. Turns out I had a fuel tank pressure sensor go out, a leak with the oil pan gasket, and an issue with a sway bar link.
I appreciate 299 Automotive’s professional communication, fair pricing, and timely repairs! This is our second time using 299 Automotive (different cars) and both times the service was exceptional! It’s nice having the confidence and peace of mind knowing our family has a local mechanic in Longview, TX we can trust and who does quality work!

My husband was told he had an oil leak and I went all over Gilmer trying to find someone to take a look. No joy! I made an appointment with 299 and when I arrived, they quickly set to work trying to find the problem. Barry stayed in constant communication with me as they were working on it. It was determined that there wasn't a leak after they cleaned up the oil and took it for a quick test drive.
After all that, he didn't even charge me.
I am very impressed with how I was treated at 299. They went above and beyond
I highly recommend 299 for their great customer service and automotive knowledge.

Autozone said I had a bad alternator. They looked at and said the alternator was fine. They spent their time running all kinds of test and getting prices. They didn't change me anything!! That's the amazing community friendliness and service Longview needs! Never going to Peter's again.

My father’s 2004 Chevy had been running hot and he thought it might be the thermostat. I spoke to Barry, the owner at 299 and explained the situation. He offered to go pickup the car and bring it to his shop. He did a thorough inspection of the car and found a plugged radiator and leaking head gaskets. The repair costs were provided electronically via a text and were broken down by repair task (very helpful). Unfortunately the repair costs were more than what the car was worth. I spoke with Barry and we agreed on an alternate repair plan that included and new radiator and thorough flushing of the engine block and other repairs that cleared the engine codes. When he was finished, the car did not overheat and ran much better. Barry delivered it back to my father. I was very pleased with 299 and would recommend to others. Many thanks
