The getaway cabins in Wimberley are a great option for folks in the Austin or San Antonio looking for a quick and easy getaway. The cabins themselves are very nice. They are very cozy, comfortable, and have pretty much everything you would need.Unfortunately the site where the cabins are so not really offer much. There’s a walking trail, but you’ll be done with it in about 5 minutes. The site is close to wimberley’s town square and other parks though so that is convenient. The part that really bothered me though, is that for a cabin that is not cheap to stay at, they nickel and dime you the entire time you are there. These cabins are marketed towards people in the city, who are looking for an easy cabin getaway. Everything you would need is provided type of marketing. The reality is, you need to bring anything you would need to cook over the fire, and if you want to use any of the firewood, fire starter, coffee, etc, it’s a charge. Given the cost of these cabins are more than $300 a night on the weekends, that should be more than enough to cover the arbitrary costs of coffee, firewood, fire starter, etc.

This was a really cozy little getaway. I came for a birthday trip as I had credits that were about to expire (last minute cancellation last year and so pleased with how they handled it). They decorated my cabin with balloons and little confetti and a trail mix. It was a nice surprise!I came during December and the weather was perfect so can't attest to the summertime, but the temperature inside the cabin was great. I never know what to expect when I go glamping. Oftentimes, the execution falls short of what is advertised. This didn't happen here - the cabin was clean and the shower was hot, powerful, and drained well (an issue at the last place I went glamping). I had fun making s'mores by my little campfire they set up. It was really nice having it all to myself!I will say I don't think all cabins are created equal. Some look more private/secluded than others; some look like they have better views than others. I do wish there was a longer walking trail. It was pretty short (under .5 miles).

If you like eggs for your breakfast with a side of sewage (pictures attached), this place is for you. Unlike their other provisions, the sewage comes with the room for free, freshly prepared by workers who come at 9:30 AM without telling you so you can be surprised by the pleasant smell as you walk toward the back of the cabin. Can’t finish it? Don’t worry they’ll come clean it up 4 hours after you’ve notified them. By the way, no compensation was offered.Besides that incident, the room is reasonably clean and customer service over text is quick and responsive.

Really disappointed with the whole experience, and not worth the money they charged. The location of the “Getaway” plus the cabin (felt very cheaply put together!!) left a lot to be desired. Would not go back to the one in Wimberly and would really love my money back.

We had a few bumps when we first checked in but customer service helped us work them out. Not a foolproof system yet, there are some issues they need to work on- like double booking and some cabins are definitely not like the ones pictured! Make sure to put in the notes that you want a view (although why else are you coming) or you could end up with a highly exposed cabin to every passerby with no view. The accommodations vary as well- ask for a newer cabin as they seem nicer. Once in and settled though it is a serene and peaceful place. They do think of everything and it’s the perfect place to be unplugged.

This was exactly what I needed. I loved the location of my cabin because I could walk a few feet away to check my phone but was mostly cut off. I had a beautiful view of the sky from my window and sitting outside. Plus it was so quiet even with most the camp sites occupiedRooms: Bed was super comfortable and I had everything I needed.

I've had the pleasure of staying at Getaway Hill Country Cabins twice. Both times were a wonderful experience. The cabins are small, but they have everything you need and are very comfortable and functional. The interior is simple but charming. The large picture windows and wooded areas allow for a relaxing time. The grounds are located in an area that feels secluded enough for a peaceful respite from the hustle of everyday life. Yet, it's conveniently located near the town of Wimberley where you can enjoy many local shops and restaurants.During my second stay, they provided a tabletop charcoal grill for outdoor cooking since the fire ban prohibited use of the fire pit. They also had a small provisions shop with a small selection of toiletries, snacks, and camp activities. There were a few cons such as lighters being out, the knives being dull and unusable, and the entrance to the grounds being difficult to see at night (I would highly recommend putting light reflectors by the entrance). However, they didn't spoil the experience.I'm looking forward to my next trip!

Worst experience of my entire consumer life. The cost of the house is abysmal to start, but I was pleased to find a 25% off discount code for the Labor Day weekend one week in advance of the booking. I booked a Thursday night instead of Friday because their booking system is intentionally confusing. Trying to reschedule was a nightmare - they will charge you $50 to change your reservation if you try to change it less than 14 days out, and expect you to pay a difference if the new night is not the same rate - spoiler alert, none of them are the same rate. They also do not do refunds in under a 14 day period, and charge you a $50 cancellation fee with that. On top of this, customer service is abysmal - takes days to respond, all done via email through a robot, and constantly sending it to different service reps during the process so there sin't much of a history of discussion. Do not book with Getaway House, it's a disaster.

My boyfriend and I booked Getaway to celebrate my birthday and it was just what I wanted! Very cute and functional cabins. They were spaced out well so you have privacy and it was quiet and well maintained. We did have an issue with our AC and spent quite a bit of time in the middle of the night to get it working but nevertheless we fixed it.The only real disappointment is that Getaway is sponsored by Walmart. HEB gives back so much to the community, I wish they would have partnered locally.

Nice place for a "getaway" as the name suggests, but be advised the the cabins are only really good for two people at most (or at least the one my girlfriend and I had). There's also no oven, and ice won't stay frozen in the small fridge's freezer. oh, and the so-called general store doesn't exactly have many provisions. That being said, it's a scenic area the cabins are located in.

Too pricey for Texas as there is no great view staying in a Ranch area. We spent nearly 350$ for a night stay.Rooms: Great room , would have been better with air freshener.Food & drinks: As an Indian and veggie I had no option of food except pizza. I would recommend taking something to cook at cabin. But there are restaurants within half hr drive.
