Had a tire blow out a couple days back and replaced it with the donut from my trunk. Brought it in to Hill Country Tire and Auto today since they were able to get what I needed delivered the same day. The same tire costs $49 at Walmart but I could not wait anther day for shipping. ( $120, here). They got to work on removing the donut, applied the impact on the lug (which I heard them do) when Calvin(?)- white guy with glasses- came over to tell me the tire lug was cross-threaded and would have to be cut off and repaired. He started talking about the labor costs this would entail and how it would take them some time to do. He stated they could put the new tire on but it would only have the 3 lugs, or I could bring it back in to be fixed - but not tomorrow since they were fully booked. (They don't make appointments- it's first come, first served.) I inform him that the lugs were tightened by hand when the donut went on. He starts telling me that other factors may be involved such as loose metal spurs which may have flown onto the lug and caused it to become stripped. Smh. Highly unlikely. I ask him if the lug became stripped when they went to remove the donut. Did they have the impact turned the wrong way? He denied this, then states he will do some research on the issue and get back to me. Five minutes later, he says they have the parts they need on hand and can do the repair. Great! They saw off the bad lug and put the donut back in my trunk. It took them all of 7 minutes to do this. They get the new tire on and I go inside to pay. Calvin begins to tack on an additional fee for the repair of the lug they stripped and I tell him I think they are the ones who stripped it. He again denies this. I left and when I got home I realized they damaged the wheel base for the donut during the "repair" of their mistake, and now the donut is unusable entirely. This says a lot about how this place does business and how they will take advantage of their female customers, in particular. Do not recommend.

I needed a tire repair. They provided a quick repair for $20. It’s better than going out of town and spending $20 on gas for a $10 repair. The front desk guy was friendly.Service: Tires

Having a new battery installed ($22) and not being informed of this instalation charge. When installed the catalytic converter light.came on and wasn't resolved...still on. What a coincidence huh? Bottom line; not real pleased.
