The people are super nice, it's not over crowded. But .... It is EXTREMELY expensive. Though convenient for a country town if you don't want to drive to Walmart 30 minutes away.

The only way this store could be worse , was if it were a Delchamps. I know Winnie is a small town but good lord it's not 1978 y'all. If anyone ever opens a MODERN grocery store this place would close in under 60 days. We shop here because you have NO CHOICE . It's this or drive an hour or more to another city. This place is a price rip off too. Sad 😢.

In a small town, you don’t always expect big-city amenities — but this grocery store is a rare and welcome exception. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can tell that this place takes pride in what they do. Whether it’s the spotless floors, the well-stocked shelves, or the warm greetings from staff, everything about this store speaks to high standards and a genuine commitment to the community.
One of the standout qualities of this store is the exceptional customer service. The employees are not just helpful — they’re thoughtful. Whether you're looking for a specific ingredient or just need help reaching something on a high shelf, there's always someone nearby ready to lend a hand with a smile. The cashiers remember your name and ask about your day, the deli staff treat you like a neighbor instead of a number, and management is approachable and clearly invested in making every visit pleasant.
There was one instance where I couldn’t find a particular brand of gluten-free pasta that I needed for a family dinner. Not only did a team member go out of their way to check the back, but they also offered to special order it for me. That kind of service is increasingly rare and deeply appreciated.
For a store located in a small town, the variety here is honestly impressive. From fresh produce to specialty items, it’s clear the buyers are intentional about meeting the diverse needs of the community. You can find everything from locally sourced honey and farm-fresh eggs to international spices and organic options. The meat department is well-stocked and fresh, the bakery smells like heaven, and they even carry niche items I usually have to drive to a big-box store to find.
Seasonal selections are also a highlight — during the holidays, you’ll find everything you need for festive meals and decorations, all without having to leave town. It’s obvious the store adapts its inventory based on customer feedback and community trends, which is not something you see everywhere.
the bathrooms...Let’s be honest — not all public restrooms are created equal. But the bathrooms here? Immaculate. I’ve used them multiple times and every time they’ve been spotless, well-stocked with soap and paper products, and actually smell clean. You can tell they’re checked and cleaned regularly, which shows a level of care and respect for customers that many stores overlook.
It’s easy to overlook the importance of a grocery store in a small town — until you experience one like this. It’s not just a place to shop; it’s a community hub that takes care of its people. Between the incredible service, thoughtful selection, and sparkling-clean facilities, it’s clear this store is run with heart.
If you're ever passing through, or lucky enough to live nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll walk out with your groceries — and a smile.
