terrible care for animals- just went and saw piles of dead goldfish that have obviously been there and neglected. this is devastating and i wouldn’t recommend even purchasing your fishes from here since they are obviously not well taken care of and could have health issues. wouldn’t support a shop that gives such terrible care. here are some photos to show just how bad it is.

Took my kitty to get bathed and nails trimmed at this PetSmart today. I had tried to make an appointment for the Allen store but they were unavailable, so I decided to come here instead. They took great care of my kitty and were super helpful during the checkout process.

Disappointed Mom Visit — May 20, 2025
I visited the PetSmart Wylie location today with my toddler after spotting an amazing online deal — a 5-gallon aquarium marked down from $70 to just $22! This was the only store showing it in stock, so we made the drive from Rockwall. Totally worth the trip for the deal alone.
The staff were polite but quiet — one person sounded sick but was still helpful, and another was busy cleaning a guinea pig cage. It felt like everyone was focused on stocking shelves, which would be fine… if not for what we found in the fish section.
I was hoping to pick up something to add to my existing aquarium — maybe a mystery snail, shrimp, or even a Betta for a different tank. But when we got to the aquatic section, my excitement turned to horror.
Over 85 visibly dead or decaying fish. Tanks cloudy, fish sick or lethargic, some tanks downright foul-smelling. A few tanks had crusty, white, long-dead fish just lying at the bottom. It was heartbreaking, especially since I had to explain to my toddler — and overheard other moms doing the same — that the fish were “just sleeping.” Any parent knows the pet store is like a mini zoo trip for young kids, so this was beyond disappointing.
There were no snails, no shrimp, no healthy fish, no live plants or decorative tank setups — just sick, suffering animals. Even the Betta cups looked rough, with many clearly not well. Reptile enclosures were empty, no hamsters in sight, and only a couple of guinea pigs and older budgies seemed active.
PetSmart, this was unacceptable. I know employees may be stretched thin, but this level of neglect isn’t okay. These animals rely on us. If you’re selling live creatures, you need to care for them, not just stock shelves around them. You are supposed to set the example in pet care — not ignore suffering right under your roof.
Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location.
It was a good reminder that PetSmart is the Mr. Pibb to Petco’s Dr. Pepper — close, but never quite right.

Never. Ever. Go to the grooming here. It’s so bad they will leave your pet looking horrendous, I took my pom here to go get groomed and I had asked for one of longest guards because poms look better with longer hair, and he came back with literally no hair and looking bald. I’m so mad they didn’t even call me to update me that they would change the guard number. I beg you please don’t ever come here the lady was also super rude saying that she would never take my dog in again because the way he acted. Mind you my dog is a 11 year old Pomeranian he wouldn’t kill a fly. He doesn’t even bite AT ALL.

Great customer service

If you’re thinking of going here for grooming, just don’t. If you’re reading this after a similar miserable overall experience—experiences—like mine at this location, help let others know to stay away unless this location changes.
If your only groomer option is Jasmine, you’re better off just trying to do it yourself, even without any sort of experience before you try. And you’ll have far better customer service by doing it yourself as well. Nothing says customer service like an employee with headphones covering their ears, dancing, while telling you it’s all your fault.
Stay. Away.

Why do they even have a vet clinic? This place offers the lowest amount of care for pets. If you care for your pet, take them to a real vet with techs that actually care about them.
The staff is rude and do not care. If they don’t care about pets maybe they should work elsewhere where they don’t have to do anything but show up and make a buck. This morning my mother showed up with her dog, whom until today has been a regular and has paid the monthly membership. The nurse practically choked and yanked our dog, to the point where he was making noises and he couldn’t breathe properly.
What kind of management team allows employees like these to work for them??? Piece of advice, get your staff in line before there’s a lawsuit.

treated horribly by worker. her name was emily. we came in around 5-10 mins before closing, which i understand is frustrating; however, my dad was incredibly sweet and kind. her attitude was so unbelievably rude. i dont even write bad reviews, but this really upset me. my main motivation for writing this is to bring attention to this behavior. my dad was talking to her, and she would turn her back and ignore him. her responses were extremely short, dry, and laced with annoyance and frustration. i'm not asking for her to chat with us and be extremely friendly, but i did expect a mutual amount of respect, which was not reciprocated. as a worker who has experience with customer service, i would never allow myself or my coworker to act this way. in the future, i hope this is changed and this is brought to the attention of emily's coworkers and managers.

I took my puppy there for his first grooming and I was specific on how I want it to look when I picked up my puppy it was not the same puppy I dropped off they shave his head all the way to his skin and butchered up the rest of his body where he looked like a sheep, it was horrific they need to get rid of the groom let that did it because was definitely not experience. They had the nerve to call me back two days ago and ask if he needs to be groomed. How dare you after when you did to my puppy I should sue you guys my puppy was terrified when I picked him up I better not find out that she mistreated him because I will be at the store for real please do not take your puppy or dog to Petsmart on Coit rd in Richardson the worst experience ever

If it's for anything beyond a quick scrape or a bruise, don't bring you pet to the vet at this location. Took my cat in to get checked out and was told they couldn't do anything, had to take him to an emergency hospital later on that night. Had to decide on putting him down, and I thought this place was the best option. Incredibly wrong. Vet told us that there would be an injection to put him under so he wouldn't feel anything, then an injection to put him down. I was in such shock at the time I barely registered but there was no first shot. He was put down with his eyes still open and frightened.
Again, for serious vet attention do not bring your babies here.

Don’t come get your dog groomed here unless you want your dog to undergo surgery.
My dog had his ear clipped by a groomer and needs surgery and sedation.
Go to a real groomer that cares about your animals
