The last time I visited family in Yoakum, I was sure pleased to see an Ace Hardware in town. Maybe this store will provide some healthy competition to those others who have been resting on their laurels for so many years. The store location is a little out of the way as it is located by the former First Assembly of God church. However, this didn't deter my mother and me from shopping here. The store was extremely clean and well-organized. In addition, the staff was super-helpful in assisting us. Instead of pointing in the direction of the product location, they escorted up to the correct aisle and made sure we found what was being sought after. The prices also seemed very competitive. Next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to shop here.

Really well stocked for Yoakum. I get lots of help compared to the Do It center who’s employees sit on the chairs since the owner died.

Staff was really great about helping me to find the pieces of PVC that I needed for a project. If you have ever stared at a wall of pvc pieces/fittings/couplings you can appreciate how much easier it is when a knowledgeable salesperson can direct you to the correct bin.

The reason I give one star is because the employees in this store disrespect me and I felt discriminated.My name is Xochitl van slooten. I went to this store today to buy a can of paint. I had a can of paint in one hand and my purse on my shoulders. One of the cashiers ask me if I needed help I told her yes I need paint so the other cashier told me I need to leave my pack in the front I ask her which pack she said you pack I told her I do not have any pack just my purse and the can of paint. She said you back pack I told her that is not a back pack is my purse and I am not leaving my purse with you all, I have my wallet and my money in my purse. I ask them if I can talk to the owner since is not the first time I have been in this store so the manager came in and she said that the owner was not there and that is a store policy to leave back pack in the front. I told her that I won’t leave my purse with them. I ask them do you think I will steal something from you all? Just because the way I am dress or because I am Hispanic because that is how I felt. I was wearing an old dress of course I won’t be wearing something nice to a hardware store. I told them I am a nurse I have money to pay do you want me to show my credentials is when they change their attitude and be let me shop. I felt disrespected and discriminated in this store. The sad part is that both employees seems Hispanic or from other countries. Things like this need to stop and people should not jus die others for the way they look or dress.
