The Texan is a family-owned chain of large-format travel and convenience centers. The staff is friendly and the restrooms are clean. The inside is a typical gas station diner, nothing fancy. Customers order from a kiosk, which can be a bit confusing. The food receives mixed reviews. The cheeseburger is very good and juicy, beats the pants off fast food burgers, and seems like a pound of hamburger meat. The turkey sandwich is big and juicy, and the pizza is fresh and soft. However, the steak fries can be a little undercooked and a bit hard in the middle, and the BBQ sandwich is noted as real squishy. Some find the prices a bit pricey for a burger. The locations are open 24/7 with ample parking, plenty of gas pumps, and high-flow diesel dispensers, though the diesel pumps can use some work. Overall, it is a pretty good lunch spot and for many, there really isn't another option.

Restrooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Turkey sandwich big and juicy. Pizza fresh and soft. BBQ slices sandwich real squishy. I'm a texture eater & had to swap with my girls.
