Spencer's Camera earns and deserves their great reputation. I met them at a conference and they were well-informed and very reassuring. Very professional team, and very nice to work with. They repaired my camera on time and on budget, saving me lots of money and keeping me reassured throughout the process. I'd strongly recommend them for hardware work, and hope to join one of their workshops.

I don't like leaving bad reviews for small businesses, but three months with ZERO communication and my lens not even fixed is too much. I dropped my lens off August 1st and was told that it'd take 2-3 weeks, a month later I called with no answer, called a week later and said it'd be ready by Friday. Called mid next week no answer, called again, and was again told that it'll be ready by Friday. Literally never once heard from them, and finally just went and picked up my broken lens (today October 23). I should have just gone somewhere else in the first place, because the amount I've had to spend on renting one over the last quarter added up to way more than I expected - and my lens is still broken! I'm sure they're great if they actually fix your lens, but plan at least 3+ months and hope that it'll be touched within that time.

I had a great time speaking with the Spensers at Nightscaper Photo Conference 2024. I was able to use the Sony a7R4 that they astro modified for me for the first time, and was amazed at the quality of the photos that a complete newbie could produce!

I just had my T7 modified for a trip to Escalante. I was blown away by the difference in the colors and clarity of the milky way shots I took. The service was amazing and he was able to get my camera back to me in time for my trip. I highly recommend this company for any modifications you need to your camera.

Spencer's workshops are great. A lot of time getting photos. Great explanations and teaching. Post processing sessions really teach you what you need to know to get great pictures

I ordered an infrared filter on March 6, 2024, emailed Spencers May 22 asking about my order they replied that the filters had been delayed and they were now processing orders on May 24. I have not received the filter. Nor have they credited my credit card with the refund I requested. So a #1.. I'll edit this if they do (it's August 15, 2024)

Good price and end result but very little communication. No emails and a full voicemail box made finding out why my camera was delayed difficult and frustrating.

I had Spencer’s convert my Nikon D7500 camera to Infrared. I had many questions and Clarence was very patient with me and answered every question. After that very successful experience I then had my Nikon Z6 converted to Astro at Spencer’s. Haven’t used it yet but hoping to on my next photo shoot. Great experience and shipping was easy and quick.

I purchased a Visible + Ha modified Canon R6 Mark 2 from Spencer's in mid-July. The owner provided very kind, patient, and personalized service. Prior to my purchase he answered some questions I had regarding the impact of the modification on my ability to use an existing Canon RF lens. After the purchase, he held the shipment for several days when I had to travel unexpectedly to attend a funeral. He shipped the camera promptly upon my return and was also kind enough to review some sample photos and answer questions I had regarding atmospheric phenomena I had captured unrelated to the modification. The camera is flawless and takes gorgeous photos. The additional H-alpha response, overall luminosity, and definition in the Milky Way are impressive, as advertised. The improvement in sharpness as a result of the removal of the anti-aliasing filter is also impressive. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I'll readily purchase here again.

I attended the Spencer’s Camera Arches and Canyonlands Photo Workshop. The class created a step-change in my confidence and abilities, and helped lay the groundwork for a new nighttime hobby!
It was great instruction for all levels of experience, both in the classroom and in the field. Our class had seasoned practitioners (5+ years) of nightscape photography, all the way down to new photographers like myself. But all were well looked after, coached, and advised to help elevate their nightscape and Astrophotography techniques.
Great course, highly recommended; thank you to Clarence and Gregory.
