Sad to see what a pandwmic can do to a business.. friendly owner explained how production has been affected, there is an interesting self guided tour of the factory which was interesting but as they appear to be running on minimal staff nor much was happening. The pieces are moulded and cater to the tourist market.

We went inside and watched the pottery being made and painted. Beautiful pottery for sale along with dream catchers, and arrowheads.

Blanding has a long history of ruin raiding to get pots, arrowheads and other items. Much of the early pot hunting was for personal display, and most did not realize how much they damaged the archaeological value of the sites (not to mention that they were stealing our national heritage). However, today most residents respect the ruins. There is no way to know the true origin of the pots in this store, but I urge caution.

So glad I stopped off here for some amazing vases. I hear rumors they are closing this summer so you better stop by on your way through town

It’s always a pleasure to stop by Cedar Mesa Pottery in Blanding. Be sure to check out the seconds for discounted pottery in near pristine condition. The store is struggling due to covid, please please stop in and check them out on your next visit to Blanding to help a struggling business stay open!

Fabulous pottery painted by some true Native American artists! Dwayne Blackhorse's new line is absolutely stunning. Locally owned business that supports Native artistry and tradition with truly breathtaking pieces anyone can beautify their home or office with. This is the real thing made on the premises from start to finish & they ship anywhere in the world.
