“Friendly staff easy to talk to. Taking a look at the place, I find it hard to believe there won’t be anything interesting. I went in just looking and walked out with something I’ve been looking for for a long time. Definitely stop in and check it out”

“Wife and I found this wonderful shop last week. Bought a 1900 hand carved table then came back the next week and bought a bigger more beautiful 1880s table. Shop owner was helpful in getting a good price on one and helped me carry the bigger table all the way to my car. A kindness the modern shops do not do. Made my wife and I so happy we visited.?????????”

“In addition to the most incredible art and antiques, what I appreciated the MOST was being treated respectfully for the person I am, not the size of my wallet. From Anthony, to Mr. Fox, to Anthony's children. I had lots of questions and I was never left feeling like an inconvenience. Very warm and personable. Thank you!”

“This store is totally AMAZING!!! It has the best variety of Antiques, Toys, and Stuff I grew up with. The Family that owns it are very knowledgeable and friendly. The place has been open for 40 yrs. You really need to see it to believe it. Dee Jackman and his wife opened it and now Dee is 83 yrs old. Sometimes it's closed due to AGE. But his Son Doug is there. Make sure you call before you head uptown. You won't be disappointed ? ??”

“I love the Green Ant. It's really the only place in SLC to find mid-century gems. Ron has a huge selection that keeps changing. I've gotten Eames, Moller, Werner and butterfly chairs there in very good condition. I go in every chance I get.”

“Oh, you haven't been to George's? That's why you don't believe in wizards and magic anymore. George is one of the wizards that live in our city. He holds the keys to the old ways. You can walk into the shop on 900 S, and you don't realize you're entering a portal. Do you find that the modern world - with it's disposable plastic and pervasive, unadorned grey and white surfaces leaves you feeling lonely, nostalgic for a time of craftsmanship, of wrought iron and brass and carved oak? Of things built by people who knew the value of durability, of learning to work wood and stone with their hands? George is the keeper of that world and you can come inside and breathe in the history. Maybe you just need a light switch cover from the 1940s, he has dozens. Maybe you long for leaded glass in a wood frame. He's got you. Maybe you want a solid hard wood door - wait until you see the warehouse out back. This is the anti-ikea, the antithesis of shiny and new. But if you value restoration, human-built craft that is meant to last, discovery and imagination, remembering what is possible with our better selves, George has you covered.”

“Love this store - keep stopping by to see if they have something that will workIn my space. Alas today is Tuesday and they have not updated their Google maps listing to reflect that they are closed Sunday-Tuesday.”
