Drove my vehicle into their shop, and after almost $5,000 I had to tow my vehicle from their shop. Feels like their main goal is to get people to buy engines instead of fixing the problem. I will never use this business again!

Replaced my CP4 with S&S Diesel DCR at 102,000 miles. Piece of mind. Works great.

Took my Jeep 4.0 in, was worried about a rod knock, paid the diagnostic fee ($230 is kinda steep) for them to only pull off the oil filter and claim there's copper in it and I need a new motor. They quoted me 9,500 and said there were no more affordable options. I took it to a friend and they diagnosed the power steering pump main bearing was what was making all the noise and got that replaced and it's all good. Paying for a Blackstone oil labs analysis to see if there was any valid claim on the copper in oil but I have my doubts. This shop has a very high reputation but this is very troubling to me as a potential customer and I am very hesitant to go back, especially if I get that Blackstone labs analysis back and theres no copper and my motor is fine. After everything I paid almost 300 dollars for a oil filter and them topping off my fluids.

I've taken my vehicles to Dave's for quite a few years now. Once I found them, I won't go anywhere else, and recommend them to others.

Dave's Auto Center is top tier in both their quality and attention to detail. Would highly recommend them for your service needs, especially if you drive a diesel.

Had the Banks Ram air induction added to my 2011 Ram diesel truck. The install was smooth and easy, all I did was sit in a chair, as Dave's did all the work. Runs like I have crossed over into Heaven as it drives like a Golden Chariot. Dave's is the place for any and all diesel work, no one, I mean no one, is better.

I had several people tell me that my injectors were bad however there was no evidence of that. I have owned this truck since day one and I was thankful to find someone who could go over the unit to verify everything was OK and in the future if I have any problems with my 7.3 diesel dave’s automotive will be the one’s Who I will turn to for help no questions asked!

$5000 and all I received was this Hat.
I took my 2022 Ram 2500 with a 6.7L Cummins to Dave’s Auto Center with high expectations after watching their YouTube videos and believing their shop to be honest and transparent. I’m a mechanic by trade — not a diesel specialist, but an experienced professional — and had already replaced several components before bringing the truck in, including multiple sensors and a Cummins remanufactured EGR valve purchased directly from a dealership.
Despite these efforts, I was still experiencing a persistent check engine light for high EGR flow and frequent regenerations. When I arrived at Dave’s, I was told there would be a diagnostic fee and that they might need to drive the truck a few hundred miles to identify the issue. I agreed to this, understanding the complexity of diesel systems.
They determined that a DPF cleaning was necessary, which I approved. That service did successfully resolve the frequent regeneration issue. However, the main problem — the EGR flow code — remained unresolved. Over the course of six weeks, they put nearly 1,500 miles on my truck, driving it extensively between Centerville, South Jordan, American Fork, and Willard, Utah.
Ultimately, their conclusion was that I needed a new mass airflow sensor (which did fix the issue) and a non-remanufactured EGR valve. They also encouraged me to seek a warranty replacement from the dealership, claiming there was a “bad batch” of EGR valves wanting me to purchase a new one from them. — something I later learned was inaccurate after further research. The EGR valve’s small gap when unpowered is actually normal until the ECU calibrates it under operation.
In total, I spent around $5,000, went through two new EGR valves, and received my truck back with the same codes it originally had. I was even charged for multiple tanks of fuel used during their extensive driving done after hours and on weekends. As it seemed using my truck as a personal vehicle.
In the end, the true fix turned out to be the new mass airflow sensor — not the additional parts or labor they insisted upon.
While the staff were courteous, my overall experience did not reflect the honesty and transparency I expected. For those considering Dave’s Auto Center, I recommend reviewing other customer experiences carefully — especially from mechanics or technically inclined customers — before making a decision.
