**Heartbreaking U-Haul Experience** 💔
I'm in a tough spot with U-Haul, and I'm hoping to get some help. Here's my story:
- **First Visit**: Told by staff to come back the next day.
- **Assistant Manager's Promise**: Wait 90 days (until Jan 9th) to retrieve my belongings at no charge.
- **Return Visit**: Shocked to hear I need to pay $275 to get my stuff back.
- **General Manager's Response**: Claimed the email promising no charge was just to lure customers.
- **Assistant Manager's Update**: GM changed the rules, and now my belongings are set for auction on Feb 1st.
I'm desperate to get my things back but need the opportunity to negotiate as promised. Heather Horton, the GM, has a history with us due to an earlier incident involving our dog. This led to restricted access to our unit, causing us to lose thousands of dollars in income as we couldn't access needed tools. This situation has left me struggling to catch up and has now compounded into this mess. The stress and heartache are overwhelming. I'm willing to pay what I owe; I just want a fair chance to retrieve my belongings.
I've reached out multiple times to Melissa Romero, the company president, with no response.
Please help me spread the word and hold U-Haul accountable.

I have used this location of U-haul many times in the last few months since i am moving from Syracuse to Tremonton. The employees are always friendly and take good care of me. They truly understand what customer service is all about.

U haul is a joke! Making a reservation means you are picking your preferred spot to pick up the equipment. 😂 They actually expected me to drive to Harrisville to pick up a truck and then Ogden for a trailer. They only pay their people $15 an hour and then expect you to do the running around instead of them having to pay someone to do it. It actually worked out great just having them cancel the pointless reservation since they are not the best choice price wise.

The general manager of this location since.She had to make sure that I knew she was the general manager has the absolute worst customer service i've ever seen?And I work in customer service. I rent from this u all the time and now I will never return to this location because of her. Completely ignorant has no idea how to talk to people.

Seems that there are many people who have the same issues with the same people at this location. The reviews don’t lie people!! I rented a storage unit from this location. First month was free. During this time I only accessed the unit 1 time because I only needed it for less than that. I was moved out of the unit before the due date. I was going to call the location on thanksgiving to verify but didn’t know the number so I had to google it. Google said they were closed. They took their payment just after midnight on the due date even though the customer should be given until the close of business in the due date to make the payment. I called the location that morning to explain to them I was already out and the first girl was very rude and said that they don’t prorate the payments. I started to question this and she immediately passed the phone off to another girl who was also very rude. She proceeded to tell me that I needed to have pictures and all of that to be moved out and asked if I could come in that day. I went right down there and took the pictures and showed them proof I was already out. This is all on the day the payment was taken. Refund was refused, I was told I had all this time to come in there and properly move out, even though I work and could not make it there during their business hours, I told them about trying to call and she said they were there on the holiday. I told her google said you were closed and I was told I should have called or come in anyways. Yeah like people are going to come into somewhere that says is closed online for the holiday.all that and all the rudeness aside, I showed them proof I was out of there before my due date and refund was still refused. They got away with over $150 dollars in rent on a unit that I’m not even in. No refund, no pro rate, just horrible customer service. I disputed the transaction with my bank and if that won’t work I will take it above their heads because that’s the same as stealing!!

This place was great until Heather Horton put me on restricted access. I had 24 hr access wich was great for me because I'm a mobile mechanic and could store my tools here so I didn't have to tote them all around with me. Well at 530 in the morning my girl my dog lady and I were just inside the maid doors and I was in the process of putting my dogs coller and leash on her when Heather come stoming in and started talking down to my girl and I like we were children and said she was going to put me on a restricted access where we have to check in and have someone escort us to our unit where I only have 15 mins at a time and can only access 2 times a day. I'm losing out on work now because I don't have 24hr access she told me it would probably be for two weeks but I talk to her recently and I'll benon restricted access for 30 days. I don't plan on staying here its only because of that woman she is rude and doesn't care that i have a business to run and would rather lose me as a customer just to prove a point that I get and totally understand. So only one star because she cares about her ego more than the income of this business!

There was a big disconnect between the ordering process online and the in-store experience. I ordered a truck/trailer at a location close to my house with mileage. The reservation details in my email confirmed this. I went to the location and they had no knowledge of my rental and did not have what I reserved online. The order went to a Uhaul 15 min. away in Clearfield. This error added 45 minutes to my day since the time to travel to this location was farther away. It also added to my mileage cost, probably another $20 or more.
As I spoke with the Uhaul employee about how this added to my mileage cost and that the order was based on a different location, she said that she was not the computer and asked if I saw the difference between her and the website. It felt condescending, but I"m sure it wasn't intended. From a customer's perspective, the Uhaul employee is the face of Uhaul and there is no difference. She was not sympathetic to the extra cost and time added to my plans and was not willing to lower the mileage based on an easy calculation from Google Maps on mileage added. I was surprised by the response by the Uhaul employee (no, I don't see the difference) and unwillingness to offer a credit.
The truck and trailer were fine and got me what I needed. When I returned them, the employees looked miserable that received rentals. No eye contact, smiles, and very abrupt. The culture here from my perspective was terrible. Oh, and to add to all this they extra charged me on miles (I had 47 and they charged me for 50 miles). Not a big deal, but once again, I was shortchanged, and Uhaul and/or this location seem more concerned with $ than pleasing customers and being fair.

I have rented U-Hauls for a long time and have been OK with them until now. 2 days ago, I rented a van from the Hillfield Clearfield location to move my son to SLC. Everything was working great. We ended around 11pm, wiped and cleaned everything up, then drove it back to the Clearfield location. I dropped it off. I didn't hear anything from them; there were no emails or phone calls, nothing. So, I assumed everything was good to go. Today, I got a notice from my bank that a charge went through from U-haul that is $150 over the price agreed on in the contract. I, of course, called the store, and I spoke to 1. gentleman; he asked me to verify my information, and he then proceeded to tell me I was being charged a $150 damage fee but didn't show any notes on what the damage was. Says, "let me get you over to someone else who can open the files." He transfers me over to another gentleman who asks me for the exact same information to verify my information. He proceeds to look it over and says, "I am not seeing why they charged you the $150 damage fee. Let me get you over to the store manager." Now, I am being passed over to the 3rd gentleman, where he again asks me to verify my information and starts looking things over. He says there are pictures of the damage, but he wouldn't classify that as damage. He says, let me put you on hold, and I will go look at the van to see what is going on. A couple of minutes later, he returned and said the van wasn't there; we rented it out, or it was in the shop. He was not exactly sure. I asked him to send me the pictures to see the damage I was being accused of. I even asked if it was normal company procedure not to document damage and not contact the person who rented it and charge the damage fee without any supporting documentation. He said no. But there was nothing he could do about it, and his General Manager will have to call me back within 24 hours to discuss this matter. This experience has put an extremely bad taste in my mouth on how they are just willing to scam people out of money without any documentation. At this point, I will never rent from U-Haul again and will urge everyone to go to Penske for all their rental needs.

I have used Uhaul for years and I have never had a bad experience till today. I was blamed for scratches on the truck that I know I didn’t create. I asked employee to show proof of the pictures before I had the truck and she could not provide them. I will never go to Uhaul again

Had a wonderful experience at this location. Jc was so knowledgeable and helpful answering any questions we had. A true delight to encounter. Highly recommend this location.
