This time, we tried the citrus slaw, nam spring rolls, and filet mignon pho, all of which were delicious. We’ve been to Saola several times and it’s always a great experience with its stylish atmosphere, fresh and flavorful food, and outstanding service. Highly recommended.

REPLY TO OWNER:She works for both restaurants as per my experience. She was serving for both restaurants. The comment is to that staff and the service. That’s why I left comment to you.A weird place. that old short lady is extremely unfriendly! The waitress brought us to a table, and that lady then came several times and asked random questions. She first asked why can we use the door we went in. Why should we know? She works here, not us. She then emphasize that door should be locked, we should not use that door. We are first time here, why should we know??? Then she asked if we want lunch here. If we don’t want lunch, why were we there???? Cause she looked at me in an unfriendly way, the only interpretation of that question is that she wants us to leave. If there is a 0 star, I’ll give a zero. This is the most weird and uncomfortable experience I‘ve ever had. I don’t know which restaurant she works for. I’ll leave this comment for both restaurants.

We wanted to go to Pho Thin, but were unaware of the relocation/dining hour change/unavailable dine in option and already drove out from the avenues so we decides to give Soala a try.The service was great, our server and the hostess were super helpful and patient with us.The decor and ambiance were nice and chic. The food however I didn't really love especially for the price. I got their filet mignon pho, and for almost $30 it was nothing spectacular. Not the best pho I've had in the valley, and for 3x the price of the average bowl I wasn't super stoked (I'm sure the filet was why it's pricier but tbh I didn't taste much of a difference between that and brisket I normally get) I also would have loved if it was served with a soup spoon so I could have more of the broth, and if the hoisin and Sriracha wasn't served in a rationed cup (same cup also... so if you can't handle spice or don't like/want Sriracha good luck I suppose)My husband loves sushi (again wasn't expecting to get sushi tonight we wanted pho) so he opted to try the sushi here and wasn't too impressed either, the spicy tuna roll didn't have much spice or taste and the Vegas roll was very cold and not that flavorful either. Overall wasn't our favorite place but it was nice to try a new place out in the valley.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Utah. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the service AMAZING. The pho is fire, their new sushi is fresh and delicious. I haven’t tried anything I don’t like!

Went on Saturday night for an early Valentines date for a 6pm reservation. My girlfriend had previously been and spoke highly of the food and service BUT that was for a corporate event. After being seating, was around a 10-minute wait for anybody to come over to us with a drink order. After placing drink orders, there was no ask if we wanted to place an appetizer order or if we had any questions about the menu. After waiting and waiting, our drinks were finally brought to us around 25 minutes later if not longer. We ordered all our apps and entrees then and proceeded to wait for over an hour for our mains. I counted 5 empty tables that I could see so it wasn't totally full. After that long hour, my girlfriends close to $50 entree of the sea bass came out and my noodles did not come out for another 15 minutes while we sat there and waited. The food was pretty good but the service ruined the night for us when I've been wanting to try this spot for a long time. Our waitress was almost nonexistent , never asked how anything we order was once, never asked if we wanted more drinks, nor did she ever reassure us of any kitchen struggles throughout the night. The table next to us got their drinks and apps within 10 minutes of sitting down and I could overhear their server giving recommendations, answering questions, checking in on them ,etc.. After all said and done, the $125 bill came out and we were almost ashamed to pay it for the terrible service we endured. Server did not offer any sort of compensation off the bill or anything. I could not see any sort of management roaming around entire time to speak to on this matter. Very disappointed and hope to maybe go back one day and have a different experience. 1 star for now...

The server was new and she did the best she could. There was a lady possible manager watching everyone and it seemed the servers were nervous. We went in to celebrate a birthday and there was nothing done not even an offer of a scoop of ice cream. Very disappointing. Not sure if we will be back.

It was such a cold night. I was in the mood for PHO everything was closed on a sunday night in utah except this place and let me tell you it was for a reason, by far the best pho i have tried hands down. Had some spring rolls and to top my beautiful fine dine night a delicious Lemmon Grass Mojito !! Its such a pleasant atmosphere and my waitress Nita was such a beautiful soul, so attentive and gentle always had a smile on her face this place gets a 10/10.

I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant tonight, which prompted me to share this detailed review. Despite having reservations and arriving on time at 6 pm, our evening was marred by extensive delays and poor service. It took 45 minutes just to get our water, followed by a lengthy wait for our drink orders and appetizers. The main course arrived after an additional wait, totaling almost 2 hours. The inefficiency extended to the check, taking over 30 minutes to be brought to our table. Our waitress demonstrated confusion about our orders, notably our initial drink order of sodas that took an astonishing 1 hour and 30 minutes to be delivered. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction to the restaurant manager, the response lacked empathy and ownership. When requesting a small compensation for the inconveniences endured during our nearly 3-hour stay, the staff struggled to recall our order, further highlighting the disorganization. This experience, coupled with the lack of acknowledgment and resolution from the management, has left us profoundly disappointed. I cannot recommend this restaurant to others seeking an enjoyable evening, as the poor service and disregard for customer satisfaction were evident throughout. Our group, along with several others, expressed our discontent to the manager, yet the plea for understanding and empathy fell on deaf ears.In conclusion, the appalling customer service and the overall treatment of guests make it clear that we will not be returning to this establishment. I sincerely hope others seeking a pleasant dining experience will consider alternative venues to avoid the frustration and stress we encountered

It's rare these days, when Pride of Ownership, Inspired Culinary Vision, and Personal, Wonderful Service all come together! SAOLA is simply a rare gem! While visiting on a ski trip from San Diego, my wife and I were so impressed with their Asian Fusion menu, the talented staff and the inspired owner Diem and sister, Gwen, that we went back the next day. The first night we ordered off the small plates menu, the second, Sushi with Brett the chef! Brittany, the personable & talented mixologist behind the bar is truly something special, Nita’s service and sincere personality are a treat, along with Brett, the sushi master, all combined to make our two visits something memorable. The menu is fun & unique, the staff professional & fun and the owners are committed to excellence! SAOLA is our future “Go To”, when in the Cottonwood area!

Tried SOALA for the third time tonight. The food is average and definitely not good enough to treat customers the way I was treated. Don't try this restaurant if you are a party of one because you will feel like they don't want your patronage. I arrived as a party of one and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar. I looked around the restaurant and saw 10 to 12 empty tables so asked to be seated at a table because last time I ate here I sat at the bar and the seat/small bar was uncomfortable. The hostess sat me in a corner small table very close to and directly facing a young family of four. My corner seat was so close I felt like I was invading their dinner party while looking directly at them. It was like I was just seated at the head of their table which was uncomfortable and I could see the family was uncomfortable also. So, seeing all the empty tables I asked my server if I could move. The restaurant was maybe at 25% capacity. The server did not dare make a seating decision and possibly face the wrath of the hostess so she asked the hostess if I could change tables the hostess told me no. So, I left the restaurant and will not be going back. I won't miss this place because the food is just average and over-priced. This is the type of restaurant that you walk into and want to succeed but feel like it won't make it. Each of the three times I have been here there have been many open tables. There are much better options in Salt Lake.
