I have brought my timid golden retriever here several times. To say she was mistreated this time was an understatement. She came back and has pooped several times on thx floor, throwing up and has bloody feet from being clipped too far. This is not the first time but will be the last.

I placed an order for curbside pickup. Unfortunately, the carrier I ordered was too small. I realized this before I left the parking lot. They refused to accept return of the carrier, even though it was still in its original packaging. The reason I was given is 'due to the new strains of COVID' they aren't taking returns on anything that left the store. It had literally been less than 5 minutes since the person brought it to my car. First of all, this makes no sense, is not based on science, is not a CDC recommendation. If they are concerned that it can be transmitted through contact with objects, why are they allowing in person shopping where people walk around the store touching things? Second, and most importantly, no where on the website does it state items ordered online for curbside pickup cannot be returned. In fact, under the order tracking function, there is an option to 'return to store.' I'm not sure if this decision was made by some local person who clearly knows nothing about infection control, or whether this is a corporate policy, in which case they need to consult with infection control experts since they clearly don't know what they're doing. Fortunately, I was given a refund when I called corporate customer service. But it still doesn't excuse the fact they did not clearly advise of this policy on their website during the online order process. Seems like another example of businesses enacting policies which screw over customers and then blame it on COVID.

I'm not one to complain, and I am giving a rating of 3 stars because the staff were very nice and friendly and I know their intentions were good, but my dog looks ridiculous. It's just a bad haircut and it will grow back, but he looks like a rat. Granted, my dog is not the easiest client with his high energy, but his fur is uneven, his skin was nicked in one place, and spots were missed. I will be going to other PetCos in the future.

Austin the pet groomer at petco always does a great job on our two dogs. One is a golden doodle and the other is a terrier mix.
