About Because Animals Matter
Because Animals Matter (BAM) is a dedicated non-profit focused on reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. At the new Schilling Pet Adoption and Community Outreach Center, That BAM Place, visitors can meet adoptable pets and access various community programs like low-cost spay/neuter and Kibbles on Wheels for senior or homebound pets. The staff is very helpful, caring for animals and helping them socialize and prepare for their forever homes. The shelter makes the adoption process easy, handling medical needs such as shots and spaying or neutering. Visitors find the staff friendly and encouraging interaction with the animals. Volunteers play a vital role, and the shelter’s dedication to animal well-being and community support makes it a special place for pets and people alike.

Victoria and her team are amazing. We recently adopted the sweetest puppy and couldn't be happier. BAM cares about each of their dogs and trains them daily. Ours came with great manners - we feel so lucky!
