These guys have been an extreme help in a moment of need. Every staff member is caring and passionate about what they do. I have loved my experience there and I still have a ways to go but I wouldn't trust anybody else.If you are dealing with depression or anger or any type of issue that has your life down these are definitely the people to go to. They sure know how to lift you and your spirit up, realize your mistakes and overcome your obstacles to make you the strongest and best part version of yourself.

*Negative experience* I do NOT recommend Davis Behavioral Health. I spent some time in the hospital due to a mental health crisis and when I left they referred me to DBH. I was informed I would be able to find a therapist and medication assistance from them as soon as I walked in the doors. I did not receive that help. I walked in and was questioned for an intake appointment and was never contacted after that. I tried to contact them and they never responded to me. I went in again on a day I was in danger. I sat and waited and finally met with crisis workers who didn’t help me at all or get me in connection with a therapist. Zero help. I tried going to their group therapy they offer and every lesson is the same. You go once and if you go again it’s the same lesson, intro to DBT.!!THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS or even being friendly. If you are needing help, this is not the place to go

Your actions were unprofessional and could have been hurtful to someone else. Let's talk about one of the WORST Psychiatrist's Jamie Mathews. I LOVE Davis Behavioral Health. I have the best therapist there. Down to earth and knowledgeable. I have had two of the worst mental health "professionals" in my life in Utah. I had an appointment to try and find out why I was having an elevated state of already crippling anxiety. I had suddenly been unable to enter the building where I work because of something minor that happened. Two weeks prior to this, I made a huge step in reducing my medications by trying to have a doctor safely take me off the fast-acting anxiety medication. That was two weeks prior to this, and I went from one twice a day to a half twice a day (starting from one three times a day for over five years). This doctor proceeded to tell me my anxiety that was crippling me, was withdrawal from two weeks earlier???? Confirmed with a Neurologist that the symptoms she noted as withdrawal were a progression of my health disabilities. I told Jamie this over and over. I was crying and I pleaded that my anxiety wasn't okay. She told me I had to "go through it". I finally got mad and told her she wasn't being very helpful, she put her face closer to the screen and started naming my medications. After each one she stated, "isn't working" and she didn't discuss medications with me until I nearly hung up on her. She simply kept telling me it was withdrawals, from two weeks earlier and half of a pill later. Like, this was bad enough for me to change, then she did this: I asked her for a doctor's note. She replied along the lines of she would if I tell her where I work and a name, so I replied with the first line stating my employer and supervisor's name. I also let her know that I was not going through withdrawals, and I had tried to tell her that it wasn't withdrawals. This "professional" simply replied with a copy of her previous message asking for the information on my employer. She copied and pasted me a reply to my experience. I am still waiting for a note that she spent the time to reply to twice, but she didn't have one second to note an apology for my experience. If she was the first Psychiatrist that had treated me, I would never have gone back for health care and that is scary. How many times has she made truly suffering people end their own suffering?? I am not kidding. It was that bad and this caregiver gave two craps about what I was actually going through. She treated me like a DRUG SEEKER!!!! I am an established patient and a mental health patient for sadly over 20 years. She was SO UNPROFESSIONAL DAVIS HEALTH WILL NOT GET ANY MORE OF MY INSURANCE MONEY!!! Good doctors are out there that deserve to have my trust and mental health in their pockets. I will finish this up by adding that she was trying to go out of town. I tried telling myself that the trip didn't affect my treatment, but I called on Monday and they got me in on Wednesday before she left over the weekend. I heard about this trip on my last appointment, so I know about it. That is great. Get away. You are a doctor treating me right now and it is disgusting how you just wanted me out of your hair. I am depressed with anxiety and panic, etc. I am not dumb. Then not even a simple sorry that I wasn't happy with the appointment. You literally IGNORED what I said at the appointment, and you IGNORED what I said in the email voicing my unhappiness. You did not even ask if I was doing better, when you replied about a doctor's note. Please do not trust this woman with your mental health medications. SHE DOESN'T CARE!!! I will be fine despite this "professional", but I have to tell someone what she did. I will tell an internet review that will go nowhere and everywhere, but one person might read and pick a better doctor. -WOW, just WOW!! Do not let her be your provider. She treats you with her emotions and not her knowledge as a doctor.

I've been coming to Davis behavioral for a while now and my experience has been awesome! My therapist is amazing and is always looking out for me so that I have the best team of people to help me with my needs. I also get my medications from them and haven't had a single issue! So grateful for them and all the help I've gotten for my mental health.

I am very satisfied with the care, help and support I receive from DBH. I feel lucky to have their services and help over many years. Especially the times when I struggle and it’s me that is the problem. I’ve had great therapists over the years. 35 years and counting. They have been my friends.

I am posting this review as a former employee. I want to share what happened to me as a warning to others. I was hired as a child care worker in October 2022. I was told over the phone and when I came in to fill out new employee paperwork that I would be making $20 an hour. For five months I made $20 an hour. Then after I was hired as a Learning to Breath instructor my pay was lowered by $4 an hour without any notice and with no communication from HR or my supervisor. It took me over three weeks for my supervisor to finally get back to me and let me know that there was an error in my pay and that is why my pay was lowered. Why it took them five months to figure this out is beyond me. Then after my pay was decreased without my knowledge, my supervisor and payroll started garnishing my wages without my knowledge or written consent which is against Utah Wage Laws. After all this I was pretty upset as an employee would be so I met with my supervisor, payroll, and HR to try to work out these problems so I didn’t have to file a formal complaint with the Utah Labor Commission. I had the meeting and was given a $100 bonus for all my hard work and thought all the issues were resolved. Well, the next day my supervisor, Debbie Barley, fired me from my new position as a Learning to Breathe instructor, but said I could still stay on as a child care worker. After a few months, I decided to quit as a child care worker and I no longer want anything to do with Davis Behavioral Health. I have never been treated so poorly by a company in over 30 years. I highly suggest not working for DBH.

DBH is awesome! All the staff is very friendly and helpful. We’ve been taking our son here for a few years now and his psychiatrist Charlotte is just amazing, she has helped us with so many different things for him and for us as well. I love that fact that she cares for her patients and does her very best.

The chairs in the waiting room need to be updated badly. The front staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, the therapists or counselors are determined to help you through your struggles the best they know how. You have to be open and want to resolve these things, sometimes tough answers are necessary but if you are willing to accept their guidance you shouldn’t have any issues.

This is the most heinous excuse for a mental health clinic. I had to wait over a month for a appointment that was supposed to be for a psychiatrist. They completely screwed that up and I walked in to find that it was a therapy appointment. I then had to schedule another appointment another month out for a psychiatrist, I needed help and I ended up checking myself into McKay-Dee's access center to get what I needed. I then showed up for my psychiatry appointment weeks later and was just looking for a refill on the prescription. The psychiatrist I had worked with name is Kyle, Do not ever work with this under educated excuse for a psychiatrist. I had showed him a paper to keep my drivers license, since I was diagnosed Bipolar 1 about a year ago. He looked at that paper like he had never seen it and wasn't sure as a mental health medical doctor if he could sign the paper stating that my mental state was stable, that took days and days for him to fill it out completely normal. After the very frustrating and worry-some appointment I went to pick up the prescription they claimed they would submit, and the pharmacy said that they don't have anything at all. So I called Davis Behavioral again and they said they didn't send it in and they would. I went into pick it up about a day later to learn that they didn't send it in again. This place is an absolute waste of time and there are so many other options for quality care that they hold themselves accountable, which I will continue on my search. Please do not even give this place a chance because you will not be helped, no medication refills, and will just be forever frustrated talking to who ever in on the other end of the phone. No one at davis behavioral cares at all.

I loved the environment and all the employees! They always made me feel welcome and well cared for. I will forever recommend my psychiatrist, Bret Hefen, and my therapist, Andi Katherine. They both listened to me in-depth and made sure I got all the support I not only needed, but deserved. I know that you will also get the help you deserve and desire, and I know you will find it here

Getting placement with DBH was easy and went without a hitch. Not having insurance or Medicaid to help and they accommodated me with a fitting payment plan. The one-on-one therapy with Andi has been amazing. They focus on your needs and allow you to express yourself in a way that heals you. Really enjoy this place. Court recommended and thinking of having it after my case is closed. Great place if you ask me.

Listen, this is community care so obviously you need to meter your expectations but, the out and out neglect of patients at DBH is out of control. Both my husband and I have been patients here for several years and I will be the first to shout from the rooftops the quality of care provided by some of the providers (the only reason for the second star) but the sheer insurmountable task of actually contacting said providers renders the care almost useless. The caseload of providers is more than twice what it should be. If you have any struggles with self advocacy whatsoever, this clinic is NOT for you. If you are a pregnant person on Medicaid in Davis County you don’t get a choice but that is an issue for the state legislature. There have been several issues that I have dealt with (always requiring weeks of repeated phone calls before receiving any kind of response) the latest in this long line of patient care failures: my husband was discharged from his psychiatrist without any notification to us and they have given us the runaround for over a week despite having been repeatedly informed that he is in urgent need of care. I honestly think DBH is gambling with liability issues at this point. We continue to work with them because of the passionate care of the providers we work with but the management and staff of this clinic are cutting talented and dedicated providers off at the knees and endangering and harming patients in serious need of care. Shame on them.

A therapist here, Cody Powell, came to our business & seemed very off and not well. Our business wasn’t a good fit for him, no problem, but went & left a bad review on my business because he didn’t like what I told him. I don’t think this is the type of personal I would want to help people who need it, not very understanding of other people.
