  I hired Kory in June 2023 to help with creating an S Corp and taxes for myself. The first thing I did when I got access to the portal was upload my current Year to Date earnings so he could do estimated tax payments for me for payroll. He did create the S Corp for me. He did process payroll once for me for Q3 for the only employee I have, but I don't think he ever looked at my info to figure out payroll for myself. When I uploaded everything for him in January 2024 to process Q4 payroll for my employee and do my payroll he was a ghost. I texted and called him multiple times through the month to make sure he had everything and see if he needed any clarification to no avail. On the 30th I sent another text asking if this was going to be done by the deadline and he finally responded, saying that they'd get it done. Nothing was done, and he's completely ghosted me at this point. No response to texts, and phone calls ring once or twice and get sent to voicemail. I'm going to dispute the $1500 I paid him with my merchant and report to the BBB to see if I can recover anything, because at this point I'm going to have to pay all my payroll taxes for 2023 at once, AND the 10% penalties for myself and my employee that were never filed with the IRS. PLUS I have to hire and pay a new firm to try and make sense of all this and see if there's anything that can be done to minimize the fees for him not submitting anything. I cannot give 0 Stars DO NOT USE SMPL TAX.

  Do yourself a favor and avoid using this tax preparer! We used his tax preparation services for over 15 years in good faith and trust. Then when we received an IRS notification letter about a gross error he made on our federal return, he would not return our emails or calls asking for his help in responding to the IRS. We have been told that we need to amend our tax return, at a significant cost, due to his error. He is completely avoiding us and his responsibility to correct his mistake. According to what the other Yelp reviewer wrote about him, this unprofessional behavior is a common practice for him.

  Kory was amazing. I always dread doing anything with taxes, and he made a daunting task very pain free and enjoyable. He was on time and worked very quickly (as a mom of two babies I appreciated this a lot). However, I felt like he genuinely cared about my family and cared to get to know us and our situation. His prices can't be beaten for the quality of work you get ( I called about 10 different places prior to going). He was also very quick and responsive with e-mail correspondence. We will surly be using Kory in the future and appreciate the work he did to put our minds at ease.

  We called Corey and felt very comfortable with him. We made our appointment and gave him all of our information. We explained that our tax guy passed away and had been clients with him for 14 years. He expressed that he understood and was empathetic. He said give me a week and he'd call. A week passed by and I had to call him . He said he had a couple questions for me and said "I'm stepping into a meeting, I'll call you afterwards". Two days later I called him got his answer machine. I called again left another message. Finally I received a text stating he'd call me and assured me he hadn't forgot about us. A day later I had to call again, I left a message stating we would like our information back and would look for an accountant. Drove to his office and he wasn't there. I left another message and finally he called and said he had our information. I went and picked it up. When I asked him what happened? Why didn't he call? He said he was really busy. I said just a quick message some sort of effort to let us know what was going on. He said "different styles you know". Be aware

  I was referred to SMPL my a trusted friend. Now I have a trusted tax professional. He didn't just "do my taxes" for me. He took the time to explain to me the why's, what's and how's of the process. On top of this his prices were significantly lower that what I paid last year.
