Being A senior citizen, I must say I felt preyed upon by WAFD. We were looking for A new home construction loan to keep the builder in check (who wafd recommended). With 10 days to close, wafd wanted another 50,000.00 at closing saying that one of the 3 lots we used for collateral was revalued at zero dollars? I found that unbelievable, but we wanted to get our new home started. To make A long story short, their disclosure was non-existent, their confidentiality was non-existent, and we were lied to on more than one occasion that cost us thousand of dollars. Even after the builder's subcontractor placed A lien on our property for non-payment, Wafd said we couldn't remove the builder. After we removed their builder from the project, we were refused access to our loan money to pay the subcontractors for completed work. We were forced to finance the project for months. To be quite honest, most people would have lost their home, and we believe that was wafd's intent from the begining. Shame on Wafd for trying to make ends meet off of retirees savings.
