Updated response to the owner:Thank you for pointing out my recent reviews lacking positive feedback. I had to double check to make sure I left a positive one for La Hacienda for their positively wonderful flautas that I would recommend anyone here try out if you're in the mood for something really tasty. I already had, thank goodness, because I want everyone to visit them so they stick around a good long while.Su Casa should be proud of your in-house salsa. Not many restaurants can just mix ketchup and tabasco together and call it salsa with a completely straight face. I applaud your courage. In your own words, "Taco Salads are not a great judgement of a restaurant..."Then don't serve it. Serving up a bad plate and then saying it doesn't represent your kitchen means you don't believe in what you sell. Also, if it's so easy, then you should know how to make it properly.I can, and do, easily get burritos, tacos, and most Mexican fare from anywhere. Yours just happens to be almost as lazy as your research on my reviews, because I make sure to keep a good balance overall. Unlike your dollar store chips that you made from an open bag "in-house".Original review:I came here because of all the great reviews, and to be honest, I don't get the hype. Ordered the flauta plate and the taco salad. The chips and salsa they gave was bad. The chips tasted store bought (a theme throughout the whole meal) and the salsa was a mix of ketchup and Valentina hot sauce. I have a forgiving palette, but even that was too much of a disappointment for me.Then came the taco salad and the flauta plates. The portions were more than generous...and that's where all the good comments end.I ordered the flauta plate. I expected the regular size/amount of flautas which is usually 4 slightly-bigger-than-taquito sized tortillas rolled and fried. Nope. I got essentially a family sized chimichanga. The cheese tasted bagged and the melting patterns on the cheese agree with that guess. The sauce was so obviously bottled (flat, with no other flavors other than mildly like vinegar) that I'm surprised they didn't just put it on the table like steak sauce. The entire plate lacked salt or any other seasoning or spice. The taco salad was much the same. The beans looked like it came from a can like everything else. All in all for $15 a plate, this was a disappointment. Lazy cooking at its finest.

I pass several good, well rated Mexican restaurants between my house and Su Casa. It's worth the drive, every time. I've never left less then satisfied!

Our favorite server quit. She told us she was sad to go but we could see how tired & fed up she was. We've known her for lots of years and she is what made us keep coming back. Whenever we would have another server she would always be the one to help us out when others weren't paying attention. We're truly going to miss Linda, but sending her our best regards. We hope the owner contacts her because she truly was the best!!

Chicken - no flavor, beans, no flavor, chips, stale and no flavor, can’t believe how bad the food was here and that they charge money for their food. I love food and know what tastes good, this place was horrible. Server was scared and not helpful. Salsa was like Spicy tomato sauce. Gordita had no flavor and had strips of the amazing chips. There are no words ro describe how bad this place is.

Been coming here since I was a little kid (in the 80's) and if Su Casa is anything, it's consistent. The chips and salsa are my favorite (and haven't changed since I was a kid), and they bring food out faster than most fast food places—which is saying a lot considering your'e getting a hot plate of awesome Mexican food. If you want a fun, family-friendly place to eat without the crowds and the long waits—look no further.

Food was alright, service could be better. I drank my glass of water fairly quickly and stayed thirsty the rest of the meal. We went close to the end of business hours (6:30-7:30), and towards the end the restaurant looked like it was closing around us and subtly kicking us out. Not my fav.Pricing was good.

I’ve been coming here since 1984 but haven’t been here for several years. Was glad to see the Chili Verde was still tender and delicious. Wife has never been here and she cleaned her plate. That there is a miracle. Thanks Su Casa!

Su Casa is the best Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City. Everything on the menu is outstanding. Service is top notch. It’s one of our favorite places to dine.
